How will we pay for a war with Iran?

Here is some fun to brighten your day. Im sure you've all heard the saber-rattling regarding the current issue in the Strait of Hormuz.

If not, here is a CNN story on it: http://www.cnn.com/2011/12/28/world/meast/iran-us-hormuz/index.html

Anyway, our good friends on the fox news website are loving this because they want nothing more than yet another war, this time with Iran.

Im a big fan of using people's talking points against them. So I asked the folks on the comment section of the story, "How will we pay for a war with Iran? A war will add billions to the current debt."

Here are some classic responses that show the reality: They don't care about debts and deficits, its just a convenient political tool once a Dem is in office. The responses are all copied-and-pasted verbatim. I never said I was liberal nor posted anything that would indicate such.

Responses (remember, this is the sound logic that makes them better and smarter than us Libtards):

Ha, are you serious? The cost of Iraq and Afghan, total for 9 years, is LESS than the $1.2 trillion increase in the debt ceiling just signed by Obambo. Annually, the cost is about 2.5% of the budget. Sand on the beach

Forget the cost of the war. how do we pay for $8 a gallon gasoline? We cant afford to put up with Iran any longer.

We pay for it with taxes. Next idiotic question? (this dude totally ignores the current conservative theology on taxes)

Cut welfare and all Obama aid to illegals!

Cut the Dept of Education

Look at it this way, how would we pay for war if we got invaded by Iran?

Since when do you have to pay for a war? We haven't paid off WWII.

Same with Iraq. The oil profits will pay for the cost of a war.

Support your country, traitor

Sell some liberals

Stop giving free aid in the number of billions to 3rd world schit-whole

By selling the oil the mullah mullahs are using to hold us hostage.

Stop wasting money on Barry's section 8 black panther buddies. Us that money to fight islamo-fascism.

WTFC? Have a problem focusing on the problem libby?

Your dear leader already spent trillions. Go back to your coloring book.

--So, as you see, these fiscally responsible conservatives really dont have any answers. They want a war but dont want to pay for it. And when asked how they would, they come up with awesome ideas!!!

But I believe we helped to create idiots like this by neglecting to fund our public school system. Much of America is not metropolitan. And as such they just don't have access to the higher quality teachers.

Sad. It doesn't bode well for a better future.

The fed will simply create the money needed for the war, just like they did in all of the other wars since 1913.

the real problem and instead just citing more rhetoric to get like minded readers fired up. <sarcasm>I've never seen that behavior on this MB</sarcasm>

I liked this one, however: "Since when do you have to pay for a war? We haven't paid off WWII."

And that is what is should say on your pay stub "War Tax". The tax would be progressive on all income earners. I don't care if you only make 5000 a year. In fact I would also tax all state and federal benefits with the War Tax. And make the War Tax equal to the cost of the war both during the war and after effects such as injuries, etc.

Damned chickenhawks, always so eager to go to war, one in which they won't have to personally risk anything at all. They have no qualms whatsoever with sending someone else's kids into combat.
