Do you think Drumpf will try to avoid the debates?

I just have a feeling he won't want to go one-on-one against Hillary. For most people avoiding the debates would be the kiss of death but Drumpf has been an unorthodox candidate all the way thru. He does what he wants. He either will avoid the debates or decide that one or two debates is enough.

6. The DNC and RNC have already worked out a debate schedule...
Tue Jul 26, 2016, 08:30 PM
Jul 2016

First presidential debate: Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.

The first debate will consist of six 15-minute segments selected by the moderator and announced ahead of the debate.

Vice presidential debate: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.

The vice presidential debate will be divided into nine 10-minute segments.

Second presidential debate: Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Washington University in St. Louis

The second presidential debate will be a town meeting, where half of the questions will come from participants and the other from the moderator. The moderator's questions will be based on public interest topics determined via social media and other sources.

Third presidential debate: Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

The third presidential debate will have the same format as the first, with six 15-minute segments.

I think you're first one to bring up that possibility on DU - and a very real possibility it is.

And not just because he's chicken; it's becoming a challenge to find a university willing to take the security risks of controlling the hordes of cross burners and gun humpers his presence is likely to attract.

those who don't know what they don't know. BUT, Manafort knows by now that Trump knows only one iota of what he would need to know to be president. I heard someone mention this when asked who would win the election - "that depends on the debate format". They didn't elaborate (never are allowed to on MSM), but I took it to mean - if a true "back and forth" format it would kill him. A format that allows each to just ramble, unchallenged, with little follow-up, will help him.

I've posted this a couple of times. He can't stand up against her in a debate, and if he tries the nasty insult routine it will backfire on him.
I think there will be some kind of limited debates but I expect him to make unreasonable demands and make the debate format the issue. He will try to get out of any one-on-one free debate.

to debate her once, thinking he's going to have the same kind of idiotic "great zinger, Donald" audience he had when it was all Republicans and the same kind of idiotic questions.

Then he'll find a reason to abrogate the debate contract just like he reneges on many of his legal obligations.
