This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by George II (a host of the General Discussion forum).
Will Hillary as President represent all of us, or only those who supported her in the primary?
There are so many comments along the lines of "she won, so she should ignore Bernie and his fans" that it makes me wonder if she'll represent all of us or not. Reminds me a lot of the George W. Bush fans.

(112,741 posts)when they're hammering out the platform. He's staying in the race to make sure that happens. Whether they act on his input remains to be seen, but at this point Clinton needs his supporters. She can't win without them.
That's something her most ardent fans are missing in their effort to be as smug and superior as possible.

(11,076 posts)Is that clear enough? Our tea bagger Govenor said, after one week in office,.......you are either on the bus or under it. He at least gave us a chance to climb aboard. I think Bill is over it. As he says, we are toast. No worries, everyone else is pretty much well done too unless they are potential donors.

(2,348 posts)If you mean fighting for the goals we share, then absolutely she will.
If you mean adopting the specifics on Bernie's platform, then you will probably be disappointed. She has her own ideas of how to get there.

(94,748 posts)believe the President did not do that, but I would disagree.
He tried to bring all groups together through compromise. It was largely unsuccessful with the republicans who not only refused to compromise, but actually went out of their way to oppose anything this President tried to do, even including republican ideas which they rejected.
I believe there will be open and lively debates, and discussions to find common ground, as long as all parties are willing to listen and bend something will get done.
A lot will also depend on if we can get the majority back to Senate, and how representative they will be to the people who elected them
