Let's say that the Republicans nominated an African American or a Latino who is on record making ugly, bigoted, racist remarks. Would such a candidate be getting anything more 4% or 5% of support from those groups? Of course they wouldn't.
So why is Trump enjoying ANY support from women? Thoughts?
--On edit to add--
1.) This has nothing to do with Hillary. If Bernie or Biden or Elizabeth Warren won the Dem nomination, Trump would still get 40%+ of the women's vote.
2.) Trump embodies every ugly trait of a sexist, almost to a caricature level. He doesn't like to hire women, and when he does, he judges them purely on their appearance. He dumps his wives when they age for younger, prettier women. He even makes creepy statements about his own daughter.

(31,540 posts)You know, like talking about your baby daughter's rack-to-be, or how hot your teenaged daughter is and how you might be dating her (you know, if she wasn't your daughter, nudge, nudge, wink, wink).
I don't know. It beats the hell out of me.

(15,235 posts)Some women enjoy being called "Bimbos" and other demeaning names. Still others, can be paid to like Trump. If someone is willing to pay them for their actions, certain people will do anything. Have you ever heard of a "Hit-man?"

(5,281 posts)The few women I know who plan to vote for Trump are all anti-abortion fundamentalist Christians. And even they don't like him, because they recognize he isn't a Christian, at least how they define it. (I have no idea about Trump's personal religious views.) But they want anti-abortion SCOTUS justices so they'll vote for him regardless.

(15,224 posts)I asked an ardent Trump supporter this very question. She sloughed off the issue of Trump having a problem with women, calling them dogs, etc. Her answer is "that happens all the time".
It may happen all the time, but it's NOT okay with me that it happens at all. Shouldn't be okay with anyone.
I think these women don't believe that they are deserving of the respect that the rest of us insist upon.

(13,776 posts)It seems like a good ad or op-ed or something could be made of it--I hope you write it or that somebody else does, because I haven't seen that scenario discussed elsewhere and my (perhaps over-optimistic) hope is that it might make a few Trump voters think. (I just reread the end of that sentence... Trump voters, thinking... yeah, right.)

I don't get it either, but the phenomenon exists. The most reprehensible males in the world always have groupies.
