Fivethirtyeight looking for an Editorial Coordinator

FiveThirtyEight is hiring an editorial coordinator to help us run our office and operations efficiently.

The job includes a lot of administrative duties: processing invoices, ordering equipment, preparing and checking expense reports, keeping track of contracts and calendars, etc.

But it’s also more than that. The editorial coordinator will be the gatekeeper for people or companies pitching stories or doing business with the site, routing requests to the right editors or writers. The job will require managing outside events and screenings, and putting together awards submissions for contests. And there will probably be many other duties that I can’t think of right now.

We’d prefer someone with three to four years of experience in helping to run a fast-paced office, who has clear organizational skills in time management and verbal and written communication. Ideally, candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and be comfortable using SAP systems for expense reporting and invoicing. And it’s important that candidates demonstrate a solid interest in and understanding of FiveThirtyEight’s data-driven editorial mission and its content.
