And I like it!!!.
There may be some issues with the man, but his political oratory is spot on!

(130,895 posts)and the Dem ptb have never liked him.
Eko
(7,282 posts)and your almost 68 thousand posts and I have to admire you, I have to wonder what kind of world you move through. Us peons could never imagine it, the amount of time you must have spent bowling with Obama, flying with the Clinton's, hobnobbing with the upper elites to know that they have never liked him is mind blowing. Never, as in ever, as in all of time. Actually, you have to be some kind of time master to be able to make that statement, are you a time master? Can you see everywhere and at all times, Wow, you must be a highlander, "There can be only one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ghost in the Machine
(14,912 posts)I wish we had 100 more just like him, personally. I'm tired of the whimpering, cowering, rolling over and playing dead Democrats. THEY are the ones who make us look bad, and why the repugs, and everyone else, think we are "weak", or "pushovers". I WANT candidates/office holders who are willing to stand tall and strong, and are NOT afraid to play "Smashmouth Politics" with the repugnants, or afraid to hurt their precious little feelings.
Peace,
Ghost

Peace Ghost in the Machine. Peace.

(14,912 posts)"Peace within, Peace between, Peace among.."..... unless someone has irked me by telling untruths, or tried to put words in my mouth, and I ask them to prove their assertion, or show, exactly, where I suppossedly said something... then I end with either "I'll be waiting", or just "Ghost".
To know Peace, you have to have known "war".... whether it's with yourself, and you need Inner Peace, or with someone else, and it's time for it to end. It seems that we have been at "war" with the republicans since the Reagan Era, and sometimes at "war" among ourselves right here on DU. Everyone DESERVES to live in Peace! I've been asking some people lately "When someone dies, why do we always say "Rest In Peace"? Why can't we always tell people to "LIVE In Peace"?
Peace to you and yours, Eko...

should be enshrined here at DU. Peace and love.

(3,111 posts)absolutely in the noxious wake of Ronnie Reagan. People like Bill Clinton thought they had to do it to win, and so they did. In fact, I have come to believe that Bill Clinton's impeachment woes might have been less if his friends on the Dem side didn't feel so shafted by NAFTA and so forth. Just a theory.
But here's how the theory plays out. Obama, despite not being always as Progressive as we would have liked, won his first election on an overtly Progressive or at least implied Progressive platform, despite how he played it out. In fact, that's what is so infuriating about him - he one with a mandate that never was entirely used.
Go forward a little, then there is Occupy Wall Street - pretty successful, although way on the radical side.
Then Bernie Sanders!!! Who would have imagined that this guy with almost zero name recognition when he started out would do even remotely so well, win or lose? Who would have thought he's remain competitive and raise so much money!!!!!
His campaign has prove several things. Firstly that you can do well by running on honesty and authenticity. That you can be an avowed Progressive, even a Socialist, and people will still like your campaign and your platform and your policies. And that you can raise money, competitive money, without relying on Wall Street and other vested interest, big money donors.
Wow! The time is ripe for a Progressive revolution, no matter what you call it or who runs it! Even Trump flirts with Progressive and Populist ideas, and may run on them when it suits him, if the Party will in the end let him.
NOW IS THE TIME for the Democratic Party to wake up from its post Ronald Reagan trauma and seize the day, the Progressive day.
The powers that be tiptoe around this. They can't seem to believe their eyes just yet.
But they better get with this program, embrace the Bernie supporters and charge full speed ahead.
if they don't, Trump is going to steal their revolutionary thunder, and he is going to beat us at the polls.
I won't care so much if he does, now that several countries are actually offering us refugee status.
Seize the day Democrats, or be buried by it.
