surface behavior. Our basic personality is hard-wired into us, and changed by external factors. What caused The Donald's personality disorder is unknown, but it could be a combination of both.

In any case, it's virtually impossible to change personality. When people try, the focus is on changing behaviors so that feedback and consequences are more positive. Which is exactly what most Republican candidates do when they move on from sucking up to the extremism of the base to wooing more moderate voters in the GE. As we already see The Donald doing.
