And that horse race might be more of a possibility with Cruz or Kasich as nominees.

It proves the old axiom about picking a fight with "someone who buys ink by the barrel".

It will give Cruz and Kasich enough of a de facto boost to secure enough delegates between now and June 7, so that no one wins a first round vote at the convention. That is the best possible option, in my opinion.

The longer the GOP remains deeply divided the better. Trump would get creamed in the GE, but anyone who comes out of a brokered convention is DOA. Especially if trump runs third party.

It is really astounding and enjoyable. They are damned if they do and goddamned if they don't.

Consider that party insiders are simultaneously planning a dark horse brokered nominee AND a third party conservative who will only contest 4-6 swing states with hopes that the electoral college results will toss it to Congress.

Those are the GOP presidential general election plans! It's just too delicious.

That being said, can he get third party ballot access if they steal the nomination from him?

Buchanan was able to run a fifty state third ???? fourth ??? party campaign in 00 because he hijacked the Reform Party.

I believe John Anderson was on the ballot in all fifty states in 80. How did he do it?

The filing deadlines start this month, but roll through the state's. Some states require more signatures than others and some allow you to buy out of the signature process. I imagine he would focus on the states he thinks he could win.

This is the same tactic then the goppers are considering if trump wins: the 12th amendment option.

I am not sure whether he could still hijack a presently existing third party at this point. I'm just not familiar with the various nomination procedures.

It's gonna be a shit show no matter what.

The ratings could be through the roof. Who knows what kind of crazy shit would go down with those clowns and a floor fight at the convention...

It'd be the biggest political thing on teevee since Monica Lewinsky....

The media, and the huge multi-national corporations that own it, don't give a tinker's damn who's in the Oval Office because they know that THEY control the narrative, not the politicians.
