difference between MI and OH Democrats re. voting for Trump?

Over the past day, CNN and MSNBC have both run stories about a supposed large number of Ohio Democrats crossing over to vote for Trump.

I crunched some numbers from the Michigan exit polls and found that about 10% of Democrats crossed over, and about 35% of them voted for Trump. I.e., only about 3.5% of Michigan Democrats voted for Trump.

Is there some difference between Michigan and Ohio Democrats that would make the latter more inclined to vote for Trump, or are these stories just media hype?
