Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Oregon (CNN) - Protest leader Ammon Bundy has asked, through his attorney, that the remaining occupiers at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon go home.
Bundy was arrested Tuesday night during a traffic stop. Another protester was shot and killed during the same stop.
"We need to step back. Somebody died yesterday," attorney Mike Arnold said Wednesday. "Mr. Bundy wants everybody to remember that somebody died, and this is not just about him right now."
Arnold spoke after Harney County Sheriff David Ward blamed the occupiers for the death of the outspoken protester. Although authorities have not named the person who was shot and killed, others have identified him as LaVoy Finicum.

(12,618 posts)What did you think was going to happen, you idiot? Did you think you could just show up with guns and take whatever you wanted, and nothing was ever going to happen to you? Did you think we were just going to sit by and let you steal land that isn't yours? You did, didn't you?
Well, welcome to the real world, moron. You have quite a few years in prison waiting for you to contemplate just how stupid you really are. Odds are you won't do that, though. You'll be the victim of state oppression in your own tiny melodrama that plays out in that tiny world you call a head.

(16,078 posts)Of course he didn't think anything was going to happen...after all his father has been allowed to thumb his nose at the federal government!
Cliven Bundy is still walking around free, and nothing is going to happen to him as he continues to graze his cattle on public land!
Ammon thought he could take it a step further and probably expected the same results!!!

Asswipe.
Since Finicum was killed while these wastes of oxygen were committing a crime, could they be charged in some way for his death?

Jason Patrick, leader of the refuge occupants for 24 hours, is surrendering, according to Stewart Rhodes of Oath Keepers.
Duane Ehmer, the Hermiston cowboy who has paraded his horse around the refuge, also has left the refuge, according to sources.
Only a handful of occupiers remain at the refuge, and patriot groups are hoping to convince them to give up. Occupation may soon be over.
