I could see the WTC from here. For a while after I moved to this apt. that sight stopped me in my tracks every time I came home at night. Then I got used to it. Then it was gone.
OTOH I see the new WTC now.

and I can't imagine what it was like for you on 9/11. It seemed odd enough to me, a visitor, the first time I was in lower Manhattan - and it was a few years afterwards that I got back.

I'm trying to convince the friend I normally go there with (we travel so well together) that we should go this spring. Keeping my fingers crossed.

million'billiionaires in Manhattan don't have the view I do. Nyah nyah

After 9/11 I saw smoke for many weeks and an empty space - which has now been partially filled by the new WTC.

A friend just got done rewiring the subways in lower Manhattan after Sandy.

I had the Tv on most of the day. There was flooding in parts of Queens and Brooklyn. Haven't heard of any subway flooding problems.
