Barrett campaign reacts to new John Doe revelation

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett's campaign just reacted to Thursday's news that Milwaukee County prosecutors opened the John Doe investigation after being stonewalled by Gov. Scott Walker office when he was Milwaukee County executive. The information came from a newly-released record in the probe.

"This is deeply disturbing," Barrett campaign spokesman Phil Walzak said ahead of Thursday night's debate between the candidates.

"All along Gov. Walker claimed he had been cooperating with prosecutors," Walzak said. "That assertion was his explanation for not releasing to the public all the emails about the probe. It now appears he was stonewalling all along. We cannot trust what this governor says about this criminal corruption investigation."

This should make for an interesting debate.
