GOP Lawmaker Asks How He Can Support Bundy's Militia Effort In Oregon

Tennessee state Rep. Andy Holt (R) asked on Twitter early Monday morning how he could support the armed militia who have taken over a federal building in rural Oregon under the leadership of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy's son, Ammon.

Holt asked, "Where can I send support for your effort?" in a tweet sent just after midnight, which has since been deleted: ....

Holt previously made headlines for a July op-ed in which he called Nathan Bedford Forrest, the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, "one of the South's first civil rights leaders." He also supported a state bill that would halt "religious doctrine" in schools before 10th grade after parents complained that students in Tennessee were learning too much about Islam.
