I wonder if Trump is borderline DS? His eyes look slightly like that, plus he is very childish. Lots of DS people have really productive lives, are able to function normally. Is he one of them? Something is "off" about him. Would people like his wife, Melaria, Melanoma, whatever be banned under HIIS rules? Where would he find his next wife?

I'm reading it now. It's a satirical look at what would happen if Hitler woke up today to find himself at an abandoned construction site. It's funny but also eerie.

My wife and I were in Berlin a few weeks ago and, speaking no real German, we kept seeing giant paintings of Hitler on billboards and on the sides of buildings. It freaked us out a bit to the point where we asked a local what was going on. He chuckled and explained the whole thing to us. Even after hearing that it was just a show, it was still a bit unsettling, but at least it wasn't what it could have been.

If this nutcase Dump somehow gets elected, I honestly think we would see his giant, bloviating face painted all over the country much like you do tinpot dictators from small countries. Ugh.

The type of people who involve themselves in primary politics are usually the party hard-core types. I believe most Americans do nothing to involve themselves in primaries. If Trump gets beyond the primaries he'll have a tough time appealing to a majority of Americans.

But have no faith in this ...

The number one thing ALL republicans agree on is that democrats/liberals are spawn from the devil.

So, they will get behind whoever their candidate is for the most part.

Maybe he is THAT bad, it suppresses things a bit, but it would still will be at worst 45-46% of the vote.

FYI, we both worked at a psychiatric hospital in the 1960's and Trump is reminding us of a particular patient who had an obsession with the "Reds." The scary part is that I can imagine this lunatic becoming POTUS. What do you do when the leader of the country is clinically psychotic?

Short of that, I'll take that 'Activist Judiciary' the Right Wing is always bitching about.
They complain, and we do too at times, but that activism is the last built-in Check when the other 2 Branches go off the deep end.
The other mechanisms for sanity and reform aren't so built-in, and usually involve bodies in the streets.

Trump's latest "idea". Even Joe who is chasing ratings had to jump to a "break", to cut The Donald off. I don't think Donald is insane, he's getting the S. Carolinians to jump at his every pronouncement no matter how far he goes. I'd say he is very dangerous.

He never reads a speech, never, first time I ever saw him do it.

I think his campaign has reached a point where they're copy-testing their base and they're actually channeling the rhetoric in a way that gives him the nomination... I mean, it's gone from him going about an ego trip to his ego trip becoming a real campaign attempt.

Basically, I'm really exhausted and I think the exact opposite, I think they're actually running for real now. It started off as a joke but, now, with the very purposeful messaging, I think it's coming from some internal polling shit that represents the true depths of American depravity.
