'The tragic situation in San Bernardino is still going on, but even as it continues to unfold

we need to make something very, very clear:

This is terrorism.

That's not just my view. San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said this afternoon "at minimum we have a domestic terrorism incident that occurred here."

He's right. Whether you get your marching orders from an established terrorist organization or are simply a twisted individual intent on causing the terror of innocent people, you're a terrorist.

But we also have to say this: When Paul Ryan and the entire Republican Party refuse to stand up to the NRA and the gun industry and pass common sense gun reforms -- as they did once again just yesterday -- they are aiding and abetting those terrorists. Period.

In the wake of yet more tragedy, including a shooting at a women's health clinic in Houston today, Republicans need to decide:

Are you going to stand with the American people and pass common sense gun reform? Or are you going to continue to side with the terrorists who perpetrate these crimes and the merchants of death in the gun industry who make it easier for them to do it?

Join Democracy for America members like you across the country in telling Paul Ryan and the Republicans: Stop standing with terrorists around the world -- and help all of us pass common sense gun reforms. Now.

Last weekend, in the wake of the terror attack at Planned Parenthood in Colorado, DFA joined with CREDO to tell Republicans to take real action to protect American lives by helping pass a gun control legislation package that includes closing the NRA-backed terror gap that allows known terror suspects to purchase guns.

But Speaker Paul Ryan refused to even allow the bill to come to a debate. He wouldn't even consider it.

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi denounced him: "It is outrageous that Republicans are protecting suspected terrorists' ability to walk into a gun store and buy lethal weapons," she said.

It's not just this particular bill. Despite hundreds of mass shootings in America this decade, from Sandy Hook to UC Santa Barbara to Umpqua Community College to Colorado Springs and now San Bernardino, and so many more acts of violence, Republicans continue to side with the NRA and enable terrorists to kill innocent people.

It has to stop.

It's time to take a stand. Demand Paul Ryan and the Republicans stop standing with terrorists -- and pass common sense gun reforms. Right now.

Thank you for fighting back against those who enable terrorists.'
