But those payments were routinely late - 21 times over the course of those four years - sometimes because he did not pay on time, and sometimes because the Republican Party fell behind. The account, which was listed under his name, was assessed delinquency charges seven times, adding up to $1,639.47.
Hopefully his credit rating is lower than his poll numbers.

I damaged my credit by not paying my bills on time, so I'm paying the consequences of it. Fortunately, the damage has been repaired and most of my debts are settled. Hopefully I'll be out of it by early next year.

It's a classic scheme:
He gets/has a card...
He convinces the "bosses/GOP HQ".. that since he already HAS the card, there's no need to open a new account..
No one challenges him ..
He charges a bunch of stuff.
The bill is sent to his house..
He highlights the stuff he says the GOP owes for..
He waits for them to cut him a check
That's why the bill gets paid late..
He's BROKE and has to wait for the check the GOP cuts to HIM..
When that check arrives, it gets deposited as a "reimbursement" to HIM..and that's how the scheme works..
Over time, a "careful" person can get others to pay for things they are not responsible for. and it provides a steady cash-flow to guys like Rubio

(2,061 posts)Is this a bad thing?
Let me write his commercial:
Marcos Rubio, a humble man of the people, knows full well the crushing debt left in the wake of Obama's policies and easily relates to people who are late making credit card payments to enormous corporations so they can feed their ten disabled kids.
H*ll, it writes itself.
If the payments were late before January 2009, Rubio comes out as prescient regarding future Obama policies.
Of course I'm not cynical enough to believe the Republicans would do this.

(82,849 posts)See, if Marco had been running his government office more like a business, his credit would have been revoked, his financing would have dried up, and he would have gone out of business. But since he was in the government with a party-issued charge card, he just kept charging stuff and paying late or failing to pay, and no one (until now) questioned it at all.
Can't refudiate that argument, can you libruls? Thought not. Rubio wins again!
