Invaluable website comparing gun stats amongst countries.

http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/

Here's a notable, quick research project using this handy database:

Look at the total number of gun-related homicides in the US. Then compare it to the total number of gun-related homicides in other first world, highly developed democratic countries such as Canada, Japan, the UK, Australia, France, Germany and others. You can also compare per capita rates as well.

Even if the gun control measures we enacted were only half as strict as they are in those country, you have to think there'd still be a very noticeable decrease in the amount of gun related homicides.

Also consider that in 2013, there were 285 homicides involving rifles in the US, which gun enthusiasts claim is essentially statistically nothing compared to total firearm related homicides. And yet that figure dwarfs the total firearm related homicides in all of those other countries I just mentioned.

Hell yes, we do have a gun problem in this country. Don't let people tell you otherwise.

If it was a gun problem, we'd have a much higher rate of gun violence through gun misuse.

99.9 percent of people who own guns do not misuse them to commit gun violence.

That proves conclusively that its not the guns that are the problem, and that it IS the misusers that are the problem.
