The stealing everything and running away part is their concept of "getting government out of our lives."

Do u remember what this site was like in 2008 when Hilary and Palin had the gall to try to get on a presidential ticket? U'd thought the world had ended.

(28,347 posts)are women, then that is simply not true.
Palin was & still is an idiot; and Clinton was competing against another Democrat. It had absolutely nothing to do with her gender.
Anyway, how would you know, you joined DU last year?

(221 posts)And I may not have been posting but I've been using this as my news source for over 10 years; I registered when it finally became mobile friendly at the end of last year, so no you are no better than me.
Hilary and Palin were absolutely decimated on these boards and when Geraldine Ferraro spoke up to support a female on the ticket she got absolutely torn apart.
And the primaries are no excuse. You remember the reaction on here when there was even a hint of a rumor that Hillary might be chosen as the VP candidate?
Anyways the point is not to sit here and bash DU (which is against the rules anyways). My point was that msygony & sexism are all encompassing in our world and it would be quite silly for us to pretend that DU is some female-friendly haven.

(9,114 posts)I saw a post on Greece last week, where the o.p. er was blitzed by pro-Sec. Clinton repliers. There are also some great Women's Equality posters here that more than give the boys a run for their money. Such a large number of o posts, nobody sees all the same things on the site.
My first prez vote was for Ferraro as vp., but wish they had got out ahead of her husband's business issues earlier. Reagan was running around with Moe Annenberg's kid and Jackie Presser at the time.
If Sec. Clinton is our '16 final election candidate, she's got my vote. I oppose the DLC, not Women leaders. I think the Dems could get ~ 200 right-on nationally prominent women elected officials to agree on a consensus candidate. [Holmes Norton, Klobuchar, Baldwin, Boxer, Pelosi, Kaptur, Waters, W Schultz, Murray, Cantwell, Mikulski, Shaheen, Stabenow, (Giffords), Lee, Lofgren, Sanchez's, DeGette, Brown, Schakowsky, Edwards, Tsongas, Slaughter, Maloney, Gillibrand, Schwartz, Jackson Lee, Moore. That's a start.] If they caucused together, even 'virtual' caucus, they could agree on a fantastic consensus candidate with much less rigamarole than is standard, I'll bet. Better yet, consensus p. and vp. women candidates. Then get the good progressive Dem guy elected officials we have lined up behind those women candidates. Long past time, and could help us get another 8 years, after we stomp that swine Romney this time around.
I did the same thing as you did, using this site long before posting. (Started looking later than you, ~ '04 or 5, though.) There is complete equality of post-er's ideas here, so I'm on your side there. There may be some 'long time post-er 'chauvinism', but a lot of times, the 'old timers' are just wary of m.i. s, and jump to (sometimes incorrect) conclusions when they see something they disagree with.
On Palin, you can't polish a cow-flop, but you can't really libel one, either.

(9,214 posts)While most of the listed legislation is indeed bad for women, least two of the legislations listed are beneficial to women.
Couldn't read most of them, eyes getting too old, but while looking for any NY legislation, I noticed a CA and a IN, OR instance that weren't bad.
