(275,488 posts)2008 was the first election since 1952 in which neither candidate was an incumbent President or Vice President. Will also be true of this one unless Biden gets into the race.
I heard that during the 2008 campaign and sure read it several places since - was really surprised that not one contestant knew the answer.
