Frank Matyja was in the right place at the right time in early July.

When Matyja, an officer with the Papillion Police Department, arrived to a medical call, his training kicked in and he helped to save the life of a man who went into cardiac arrest.

On July 2, Tom Reber and his wife, Beth, were sitting down for dinner at a restaurant when he said he wasn’t feeling well.

They went home and as Beth Reber pulled their truck into the driveway, she asked her husband if he wanted to go to the hospital, just to get checked. He agreed to go, but as she pulled the truck out of the driveway, she heard him slump over in the backseat where he was sitting.
