One thing is as sure taxes the slain reporter's dad will be savage and silence by gun huggers just like the parents of Sandy Hook. If you are any threat at all of getting gun laws passed you will face a fusillade of abuse and threats until you just give up. Threats and innuendo will become a part of your everyday life. And the apathetic general public will just yawn and go about its business.

I do not believe there is a tipping point these days. The carnage will continue and grow and nothing will be done. The NRA will continue. It is ironic that the shooting of Arizona of a House of Represntatives resulted in nothing. Of course that was a Democrat. Looking back when Reagan was shot we got a temporary assault weapons ban that is now expired. And Brady was savaged the rest of his lifetime for being part of banning assault rifles. If Columbine, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook are not enough to take action I am not sure anything is.

We will continue with the same lame circular arguments. And more families will have to be content with the same outcome we will see in the recent event.

And if there is a large public meeting about gun control you can guarantee you will see a large number of armed militia showing up at the meeting making sure it does not take place at all. Just ask the "Moms" activist group. Unless there is serious public kick back against gun huggers we are destined to be an "open carry" society. The NRA intends to make it possible to carry any weapon any where you desire to. What we see now is just the beginning. Recent events in Ferguson are a good example of where we might be heading.

From what little I have seen so far, he just might have the right combo of smarts, anger and energy to get more done than many others.

The fact that this was escalated by the on camera act plus selfie plus social media means we have entered into even more frightening territory, which could bring more one upmanship behavior by other unhinged gun owners.

He has described himself as a Democrat, invoking the 2 senators in VA helping him in a General Assembly race (Delegates, in VA). I am glad that CNN hasn't identified himself as a Dem. Some things don't need partisan politics interjected. Hopefully something will get done since it happened to their sorority/fraternity/brother-sisterhoods. I know local versions of Alison Parker and Adam Ward here and it could happen to any of them. This madness must end, before we all be consumed by it.
