http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/08/17/1412832/-14-San-Francisco-Cops-vs-1-One-Legged-Man-Two-Crutches-and-Multiple-Phone-Camerasa Black man... was taken down by police in the mid-Market area of San Francisco... I began to see outlines of the incident unfold... a limping Black figure, wearing black, increasingly cornered by a wall of blue. By the time I had crossed 8th street, I was pulling out my phone as fast as I could.
Witnesses said there had been a call about somebody waving sticks around... By the time I arrived... several officers had arrived on the scene, and forced this man to the ground, which is where this footage begins. And they held him down, much of the time half-naked, for at least half an hour on one of San Franciscos busiest streets...
The sticks? They were his crutches. You can hear people in the background around say so much.

(12,471 posts)is what was said during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago.
Tell these pigs, in a rousing chant, "The whole world's watching!"
Time for a revolution here in the US, when police act like this!

(39,215 posts)of idiots are going to use as an excuse this time? If they do not like what we say about them they should clean up their act.
The Woman filming completely rocked the commentary.
Well done!

(21,506 posts)The idea they have is ridiculous.

(21,506 posts)Always will be. It is one of the most desirable cities in the world to live in. There is no way to change that fact, the techies didn't cause that.
Money has been gravitating there for decades. Blaming the tech sector for real estate scarcity is ignoring what San Francisco is.

(16,327 posts)I do, have for 55 years. You are factually inaccurate on each and every one of your claims. You must be very young or work in Tech.
Egnever
(21,506 posts)and haven't in 20 years. But it wasn't cheap when I did. Never has been.
Which claim did you find factually inaccurate?

(7,820 posts)And what's happened in the last 15 to 20 years or so to housing and rent costs is insane. It's always been pricey, but *nothing* like this.

What The Fuck indeed...

(78,249 posts)That area, the Tenderloin, has one of SF's largest remaining African American populations, and since most people there live in single-room occupancy (SRO) hotels, they do spend a lot of time walking Market St. This only became an issue when Twitter got the city to give it a hefty tax break to move in there.

(21,866 posts)this is their new tactic? sending in a bunch of cops solely to block people filming. wow. they didn't pull his pants up until the woman recording kept saying they had no respect for this man over and over. This is disgusting.
