What caught my attention, though, is this graph:
Look how student loans just keep rising faster than the rate of inflation, I am sure. Meanwhile, university presidents are earning a lot of money and coaches get their millions.

What happened to "return on investment", if taxpayers think the military, as half of government discretionary spending, should also be run like a business?
How come the military always gets a pass on accountability?
What kind of return would be better for the investment?

(14,459 posts)Basically, spending money on war machines is a way to keep available labor pouring into sources that do basically nothing. The money paid on materials and labor comes back into the system, but the rest stays in a machine that will probably never do anything other than consume upkeep resources.
Basically, it's a way to keep people busy and money tied up in ways that keep it out of the hands of normal people.
