They were in bed, she was asleep, he claims he pulled the trigger while he was asleep,
she was hospitalized, is recovering.
He was fired.
And now they have moved to.....Florida.
Griffin Judicial Circuit District Attorney Scott Ballard said he'll ask a grand jury to charge McCollom with reckless conduct. When asked why he did not seek a stronger charge Ballard said there is not enough evidence to show McCollom intended to shoot his wife.
McCollom resigned in March.
McCollom received 12 months probation and first offenders rights. He is also required to pay a $1,000 fine.
He now lives in Florida.

(16,296 posts)if they are still married. If so, how can the wife possibly get a good night's sleep? And , if still married the wife is either VERY,VERY forgiving or VERY,VERY stupid.

McCollom went to bed with a loaded gun after drinking and consuming sleeping medication.
Wonder why she did not testify at his hearing..she could have been deposed at her hospital.

(12,799 posts)But if the carelessness inherent in such an accident, even swallowing his tall tale whole, should at least result in never ever having access to so much as a pea shooter for the remainder of his (it is to be hoped, cursed) life. I'm wondering if the man still owns the gun.
