"Time to turn the military onto the animals in Ferguson!"

Title is a post of a facebook "friend" (actually a right winger college acquaintance I usually think is slightly above normal for his ilk).

What's up with these right wingers and their blatant racism these days? Is this considered mainstream and acceptable now?

I was frankly disgusted (and told him so).

who forwarded a story - a rather inspiring story about an American soldier in Vietnam who performed heroic deeds - which unneccesarily referred to Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin as thugs. I called the author racist and my friend was offended.

He just didn't get it.

Now I see my "white liberal" friends referring to the BLM disruptors in Seattle as thugs. I'm not even trying - at least not online. I will take advantage of my next opportunity to school them as I did my friend: thug is the new n word.

6. lol, you just made my point. Yes, and it's precisely cuz people are using "code words" like "thugs" & "animals" as SUBSTITUTES for the N-word, that they are spoken...

But those words are no less hurtful. Sorry, but I simply refuse to defend closet racists who, while, perhaps, afraid to expose themselves by uttering the N-word, denigrate PoC no less by referring to them as thugs and animals. Oops, sorry... T's and A's. (There, is that better?)
