Judge for yourself but this post today by one of the two BLM activists who stormed the stage at the Sanders rally seems pretty kooky to me. It reads as from a pretty unstable person at best and ready to go postal at worst.
I am only as respectable as the cross.
I am only as apologetic as he cross.
I am only as concerned with worldy powers as the cross.
I am only as concerned about upward mobility as the cross.
I am only as neutral, as polite, and as comforting as the cross.
I am only as rational as the cross.
This is my offering. The Spirit convicts, directs, and affirms me.
But this shit is scandalous. That is the call of discipleship.
I live like the resurrection is coming and Christ is sovereign. It is utter foolishness. It is life.
I do not worship Caesar. I cannot partake in Babylon. I cannot serve two master.
Believe, I have made my choice.

(108,978 posts)He shouldn't do any more events that can be disrupted like this, unless he's willing to have the police take the disrupters away. He had no problems at the larger rally later in Seattle because it was better controlled. (There are always disrupters ready at any Seattle rally if there are no controls.)

(53,778 posts)It's seems that this person, if that "cross" stuff is actually taken from her facebook page and is true, has
latched on and appropriated the BLM moniker and is causing huge problems. You can't really control crazy.
Too bad it's at the expense of BLM.
Why protest in Seattle at a Sanders event? Why not in Cleveland at the repug debate?

There's" another thing that looks familiar. People like this idiot Jenae woman aren't just playing (for pay or otherwise?)into the narrative that Bernie is the enemy of BLM. They remind me of the type of agents provocateurs who actively try to foment riots. And as soon as that starts, the militarized KKKops to shut them down and VOILA! The old, white and frightened (and their bigoted offspring) scurry to hide behind the tough guy Repukes. The Hillaryites put out scads of propaganda to make sure that the media and their funders know what kind of disaster Bernie is with black voters.

Seriously, security should become tighter around Bernie. It does *NOBODY* - supporters, op-posers, Democrats, Republicans, everyone in between - to have political leaders come under physical attack.
I wouldn't piss on Donald Trump if he was on fire, but I would say the same thing if it had happened to him - get better security so that some lunatic can't physically harm or worse, kill you.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)The last thing we need is physical harm coming to *ANY* Presidential campaigner. I have nothing but contempt for the batch of dolts running for the Republican nomination, but I don't want to see them physically harmed.
That is not how democracy works, and not how civilized society works. Unfortunately, there are whackos in this world that don't give a damn about either.

(2,122 posts)I guess it does go to motivation. Just be careful. Bringing religion into this discussion before the Palin button issue sinks in, may derail the discussion. The Church is very powerful in Black Community, and it would be wise to keep out of the discussion unless she was running with a dominionist set affiliated with the Palin's or "The Family". But there are definitely here a few threads to pull here.

(34,136 posts)I got some really odd vibes off her.
In my opinion both women were overly aggressive and obnoxious. The way they were screaming in Sen. Sanders' face when he was just asking for a few minutes was far out of line. They would have done better to agree to only take a limited amount of time at the rally instead of running off a candidate that could be a huge help to their cause.

(34,136 posts)Mara Jacqueline Willaford was the second woman at the Seattle Rally where the two women screamed at Sen. Sanders and his supporters until Sanders walked off.
According to the article you posted, Tia Oso interrupted a Town Hall that had both Sen. Sanders and Martin O'Malley. Different events.

The 'Warsaw Genuflection'
Willy Brandt honors the Jewish and Polish victims at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Warsaw
As he laid a wreath at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes, he did not just bow his head in honor of the victims, he fell to his knees and remained there for more than a minute. There was complete silence. One could only hear the clicking of the cameras. The pictures of what became known as the Warsaw Genuflection traveled around the world, and became one of the best-known images in modern German history.

Going after protesters over their religion doesn't reflect well on the Bernie campaign.

(73,537 posts)I remember once, back in the 1980's Reagan era, a television host saying how "dangerous" that Phillip and Daniel were. A guest responded, "They are the most Christ-like men on earth today. Thus, if the US government decides to crucify them, you'll feature it on your show." Not an exact quote, but pretty close. It was beautiful.
I can remember, back when I was first here, some folks trashing both John Lennon and Gandhi. They are people without understanding -- there seems no other explanation for those who contribute such nonsense here.

(1,587 posts)I have no problems with people who practice whatever religion. It's when they can't leave it out of everyday conversations and believe they are right and the rest of us better believe it too that we have problems.
I've never seen any indication the Saunders wants to use his heritage in any way, other than as a basis for his personal faith. I don't even know if he attends religious services of any kind.
This woman seems to have a messiah complex, believing she is as put upon as Christ was, with all those references to the cross. Many Christians seem to believe this. It tends to make them crazy. I've seen it up-close-and-personal, and it's not pretty. I was abused emotionally by a fundie freak husband. He nearly drove me to suicide (twice) before I was able to be strong enough to leave him.
