I want a new drug (& rock n roll) 21st Century Republican style

Drugs
In the mid-90's pharmaceutical companies finally got clearance to advertise on TV. This was new but there was one catch - what the drug actually did couldn't be mentioned. Claritin was hot air balloons and flowers - not sure what that meant but it seemed nice. Patients could ask their Doctor about it but the Doctor could just say "that's not what you need". Good brand introduction but not the penetration and demand building they sought. So they got the rules changed again so they could so WHAT a drug did but they also had to list the possible side effects. Now patients said, " I want THIS!" and if your regular Dr. doesn't write the 'scrip you went to someone who will.

Rock n roll
The fans want to hear the greatest hits. For the older acts the fans don't pay to hear the new album stuff or the solo act stuff, they want the songs they've heard a thousand times on the radio.

21st Century Republicans
They want to hear the greatest hits but now Fox News also tells them about the new material (no side effects) and the audience DEMANDS it.

Greatest hits - guns less government authority doo doo doo da da da

New classic hits - BENGHAZI the one about Obama having too much authority

New release - Planned Parenthood

Don't include those and *click* switch to another oldies channel. The set list is prescribed.

They asked me why everyone in America is so unhealthy. All they saw on TV here were ads for medical devices and drugs. They thought it was the most memorable thing about the US. I laughed because I thought the increase, overbearing medical advertising was indeed weird.

Mostly for older folks.

Yep the market follows where the money goes. In our case it directs where the money goes.

Now they've started with prescription meds for your dog.
"Keeps fleas and ticks away. Just pop a chewable in your pooch's mouth".
Side effects include diarrhea, loss of appetite, vomiting, hair loss and more.
Thanks. No thanks.
..no satisfaction..
