34 of those have been since 2006. There were 7 in 2012 alone.

I suppose we can all pick and choose statistics. Mass murder statistics should carry more weight in the discussion of mass murders.

Too bad the theater goers didn't all have guns so they could have defended themselves and created a fun, gonzo crossfire in a dark room filled with people.

(I'd use a sarcasm icon but I don't know where they are).

to defend his family and would have opened fire on the shooter. He says he's armed and ready to defend himself and his family every time he goes to a movie theatre. I suppose he'd want everyone armed and shooting at the same time when they hear the first shot. Yup, brilliant (good Lord).

bans the carry of firearms on their premises and just as the theater in Aurora also banned firearms on their premises.

Sadly, it seems that such prohibitory efforts do little to deter those who have decided to commit such atrocities.
