who claims victim status, when they are actually the bully themselves?
I have to run out for a while, but I'll be back to check when I get home.

(11,804 posts)What I should do is examine myself to ensure that I hadn't been behaving badly, and assuming I felt that I had acted appropriately, disengage. There's no law that says you have to keep answering someone.
What I actually do more often than I should is get riled up and continue arguing long after it's clear that there's no point to it, sometimes lapsing into outright nasty behavior.

(154,021 posts)And how do you deal with me, put me on ignore. Trust me, I will not feel one bit insulted if you ignore me.
Oh and bonus points, this is META.
Extra bonus points, Bullies do not ask to be put on ignore since that means there no more attention.

Oh and more specifically, this is YOUR personal attack on me, which was not alerted by me, but was hidden by a jury anyway

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Accusing someone of engaging in call outs when they've done no such thing is disruptive and rude. There is nothing in the OP that even suggests this is META either but this poster seems to be engaging in bullying, calling out, and stalking; and then demanding that the poster ignore her. Abusive and personally insulting. This accuser should be the one doing the ignoring instead of ambushing a poster, making accusations, and then telling them what to do-makes DU suck.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Jul 23, 2015, 02:08 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: WTF why was this reported? Maybe YOU are the problem
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Looks like there is something going on behind the scenes and this post is a continuation of that argument. It needs to be settled elsewhere.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't think this qualifies as hide-worthy. Not over the top, not much in the way of maliciousness.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: When not screaming "bully" at star holder DUers this pathetic Drama Queen is pissing and moaning about being a victim. When brought to task about individuals posts, they are quickly self-deleted. Please think about serving badly needed pizza here ASAP.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(154,021 posts)This, pay attention now, IS A PERSONAL ATTACK. For a host you should know that! I am not surprised though that you approve of it.
And ignoring you does not work anyway. So that advise does not work in your particular case.
It is what it is.

(20,606 posts)But do not watch them in the order they aired.
It's confusing.
Try this...
How to View the Series
There is a lot of heated debate of the order of the seventeen-episode series. Although it is well known how the series was ordered when the Prisoner was orignally aired, most of the air dates did not correlate with production times in any way. Obviously, we have our own opinions on how to view the series. Unfortunately, our justification (in the Theories Page) *SPOILS* many of the episodes. We recommend you view them in the following order:
Arrival
Dance of the Dead
Free For All
Chimes of Big Ben
Checkmate
The General
A. B. and C.
The Schizoid Man
Many Happy Returns
Living in Harmony
A Change of Mind
Hammer Into Anvil
Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling
It's Your Funeral
The Girl Who Was Death
Once Upon a Time
Fall Out
You may wish to examine the sites explicitly described in the Tally-Ho for other orderings of the series or spoiler-free episode summaries before deciding the viewing order. The order of the Prisoner DVD Box Set by A&E is reasonable, except we recommend watching A. B. and C. after The General.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
That's pretty shitty to high five a clear and nasty personal attack. I think this goes over the line and is too clever by half.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Jul 23, 2015, 10:18 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's possible that this post deserves to be hidden. But I'm not clever enough to figure out exactly what everyone is saying, or doing that is disrespectful. So I'll refrain from voting to hide. If 4 out of 7 jurors understand something that I don't, and vote to hide, then I will happily defer to their judgement.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT

Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Does the alerter have a clue that number 6 is from the British TV show The Prisoner. Just a bit of humor that slid right past someone.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I must be missing something here,,,, I don't see anything "hide worthy" here.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(111,256 posts)That means blocking and deleting. If the bullying spreads to real life, it's time to lawyer up.
All bullies are complete cowards. Most will go away when you block them out of your life. Only a few go on to become real life stalkers and there are laws to deal with them.

(41,979 posts)I have a friend who is being bullied over Twitter and Facebook. The one harassing her has gone so far as to include my friends children in some vile posts. She's done a number of things to combat it, changed privacy settings, started a new account, stopped participating--tried to ignore the situation, notified Twitter about on-line abuse etc. contacted blogs that keeps track of that kind of thing-- nothing worked. (I think she might have even called the police at one time) Then she went on the offensive and called out the person publicly...and got her FB and Twitter accounts temporarily suspended.
And yes, her harasser claims to be a victim.
What slowly happened, or is slowly happening I should say, is the harasser (who should have been booted off social media as far as I'm concerned) began to lose "support" as the continual attacks became clearer in nature--the rantings and lies of a self-absorbed and clearly disturbed person. I tend to stay far away from that type of situation, but my friend deserved and needed support, so I broke my personal rule about staying away from Internet drama. Once a borderline/histrionic type gets obsessed, it's virtually impossible to shake them off.
The way I see it you can end up with only two things to do, if appeals to authority fail, one is ignore them (hard to do in certain circumstances) the other is call them on it. If the second choice is taken, remembering that anyone who engages in that type of behavior thrives on attention, and negative attention is better than no attention. So discretion, discretion, discretion when calling out an Internet bully.
