Robertson's Ranting is Typical of Tea Party Tantrums: "Break it!"

A few right wingers still tout something called "compassionate conservatism." But that's just a ruse intended to mask policies that are anything but compassionate. The phrase has largely gone out of style, having reached the point of extinction right along with the concept of compromise. Its few remaining proponents on the Republican side have switched parties (Arlen Specter), given up in frustration (Olympia Snowe) or been trounced by uncompromising Tea Party candidates (Richard Lugar).

The Tea Party's goal is in a single word? Dominance. Concepts like compassion and compromise only connote weakness to members of this fraternity. They want to force their values and opinions right down everybody else's throats. If something's in their way, they'll shoot first and ask questions later. Or they'll smash it to bits, just the way Pat Robertson told his viewer to smash her friend's Buddhist statue.

Nice new can o' worms you're opening there, Pat.
