When asked about prior statements to repeal the current policy of gays in the military, he said that it should be left up to the states.
Previously he bragged about his prior military service.
So you could be gay and join the U.S. Army in New York, but not in Montana.

(82,849 posts)I thought the United States was, you know, one country. If your rights are a function of where you stand at any given second, you're really not possessed of those rights. You'd think the governor of a large state would know that.
