While Warren has been a vocal critic of how some of President Obamas top lieutenants policing Wall Street have done their job, Pelosi cast her perspective as an outlier among her colleagues.
When asked in a CNBC interview if the president is too soft on Wall Street, Pelosi replied, The financial industry doesnt agree with that.
There may be a couple people who say that, but that is not the consensus in our party, she added.
Warren has been a thorn in the side of the Obama administration on all things financial. She led the charge to scuttle a top Treasury Department nominee over his extensive ties to the financial sector, and earlier this month, she detailed her perceived failures in Mary Jo White, the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
But Pelosi was quick to caution anyone from taking Warrens argument and applying it to the entire Democratic Party.
People will express themselves the way they do. That doesnt mean they speak for the whole party, she said.

It IS the Point behind the damned Progressive Movement in the first place, I believe.
But, Pelosi is sorta right....I don't think she meant to distinguish...but in my view she kinda accidently Did.
Warren doesn't speak for the elite wealthy wall streeters, like Pelosi.....but Warren Absolutely Does speak for Ordinary Dems/GOP/TP/Conservatives et al..Americans!

(82,849 posts)How often does The Hill interview and headline a piece from, say, Mitch McConnell, saying that Donald Trump doesn't speak for all Republicans? Or Rand Paul? Or Louie Gohmert? Or Steve Stockman? Or . . . well, you can fill in the name of whatever Republican nutter got in front of a live mic this week.
As it is, no one person is the voice of "whole party" when it comes to Democrats. Someone actually got paid to write this fatuous bit of nonsense for The Hill, hoping to create divisions within the party. Nice try, assfaces at The Hill; why don't you go do something constructive, for a change?

(82,849 posts)If Sen. Warren is saying that the administration hasn't been very hard on the crimes of Wall Street, that in and of itself would be evidence that not all Democrats are singing from the same songbook.
Makes one wonder why CNBC sought out Rep. Pelosi to interview: This is news? Nothing else to report? And why The Hill thought it was worth reporting on what CNBC talked to Pelosi about. Are there concomitant stories about high-ranking Republicans discounting the opinions of others in their caucus? No? Why might that be? I mean, Rep. Glenn Grothman just came out with a stone-brained statement on marriage. Are the popular media flocking to Sen. McConnell or Rep. Boehner to ask them whether Grothman represents the totality of Republican thought on marriage?
