Conservatives Around the World Have Much in Common

What do devote Muslims and fundamentalist Christians have in common? At first glance, nothing, but beneath the surface, they have much more in common than you would expect. Both groups are both likely to be very conservative in their own ways and the point I am attempting to make in the following blog post (http://www.cajunscomments.com/conservatives-around-the-world-have-much-in-common/) is that conservatives around the world and down through history have more in common than they would every like to admit.

2. Yes they do.

I think the common thread is probably religious zealotry which leads to closed-mindedness and intolerance of anything that isn't in their holy book.

4. That's a good insight.

It is largely about religious zealotry, but I think it is even more than that. Conservatives around the world who don't put a great deal of emphasis on religion also have a great deal in common. For instance they they want to maintain the status quo and they put more emphasis security than personal freedom among many other things they have in common.

3. This is very true

I believe liberals around the world have a lot in common as well. People who believe in freedom of expression and human rights can be from anywhere, some governments work harder and by work harder I mean some will kill such people to suppress them. I have never heard of a conservative at any point in time or in any country having the same target on their back.

I think that the possible exceptions in some people's opinion are so call communist governments which in my view are really conservative dictatorships in disguise.

6. When they are faced with change

in the name if greater equality and progress, conservatives the world over scream "No!!! This will be the end of the world!!!" 100 times out of 100.

.... rather than face any additional danger at home. That Sir is the definition of a coward.
