Irish odds on the presidential election. Now's your chance!

Irish odds makers are taking bets on the presidential election. Those of you who feel certain Sanders will win the presidency have a great opportunity here to put in a bet at 33 to 1. O'Malley, Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Elizabeth Warren are all also at 33:1. Ben Carson is 20: 1, and Hillary Clinton leads the pack at 4:6. Sorry, Clinton supporters. No golden opportunity for you.

These bookmakers don't have a dog in the race. I guess the Hillary supporters will have to find solace in a solid 4:6.

Don't you think they have their own statisticians on staff? I would think so considering how much money they have riding on these bets.

Not the odds he predicted. I forget which site offered him at 538:1 but there might be more people out there than you think who would buy it for fun or as a kind of a souvenir (what would make a better gag gift for the political junky?) It's not intended to be serious in any form or fashion.

If you think the odds aren't favorable enough for your candidate, this is your chance to put in a bet and make a killing.

Gore would destroy him in a primary.

Paul Ryan, who said he is not going to run, shouldn't have better odds than Rick Perry who is running.

There are all kinds of problems with the odds making. Also, Jeb's campaign is in extremely bad shape. He may be tied for the lead with Walker, both of them having around 12%, the problem for Jeb is that most of the rest of the Republican electorate doesn't want him as President at all, not as a second, third or fourth choice.

More money, not less, on a bet. If you lose and have to pay out, you pay out less. If a longer shot bet pays off, you can end up broke in a hurry.

From a bettor perspective, would you rather risk eight dollars for a chance at making twelve, or would you rather risk eleven dollars for a chance to make just ten? The House doesn't like to lose! They'll make bets less attractive for sure things and give crazy odds for long shot, fun bets.

This might help...

The first number is the payout. The second number is the risk required to get the payout. So 4/6 means it pays 4 for every 6 bet. 11/10 pays 11 for every 10 bet.

It interesting which laws people insist be enforced and which not. Looks to me like an excuse to cover up for the fact you might not actually believe your own rhetoric.

Not an excuse at all, while they can collect the amount bet, there's no guarantee they have to pay when the bet is won. The houses I checked into won't accept a bet from a US citizen and explicitly forbid it on the bet form. I'm not worried about going to jail, although that actually is a possibility, but there's no legal recourse if they welch.

What does any of that have to do with your suggesting that people commit a crime?

....a black guy from Illinois ran for President and fucking won twice because me and a whole bunch of other people thought he was the best man for the job which is also why I will vote for a 73 year old wild haired socialist from Vermont. I trust that Bernie wants to take care of his country whereas I believe Hillary is merely waiting her turn to run the world. Which is not to say she might not be able to convince me that that's not her intention but the possibility of that is remote at best. I want a President not an anointed being.

Carry on.

Hell, he fixed it for Obama in 2008, didn't he?

Mars visitors Basiago and Stillings confirm Barack Obama traveled to Mars

Two former participants in the CIA’s Mars visitation program of the early 1980’s have confirmed that U.S. President Barack H. Obama was enrolled in their Mars training class in 1980 and was among the young Americans from the program who they later encountered on the Martian surface after reaching Mars via “jump room.”

Andrew D. Basiago, 50, a lawyer in Washington State who served in DARPA’s time travel program Project Pegasus in the 1970’s, and fellow chrononaut William B. Stillings, 44, who was tapped by the Mars program for his technical genius, have publicly confirmed that Obama was enrolled in their Mars training class in 1980 and that each later encountered Obama during visits to rudimentary U.S. facilities on Mars that took place from 1981 to 1983.

Their astonishing revelations provide a new dimension to the controversy surrounding President Obama’s background and pose the possibility that it is an elaborate ruse to conceal Obama’s participation as a young man in the U.S. secret space program.
