Bernie Sanders: Why Did THOUSANDS STAND IN LINE To Hear Him?

SHARE WITH FRIENDS.........

Nearly 4, 000 people in Minneapolis showed up on a Sunday morning to hear presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders. That's a lot more than the 200 people the campaign originally expected. So why did so many people show up and what did they think of Sanders? The UpTake's Bill Sorem asked and here are the responses he got.

Looking forward to seeing the numbers the Republican opposition gets when they start working the stump. Though I suspect many will just stick to debates and safe zones.

Dig into the numbers a little and you'll see little room for Hillary to expand support, where Bernie has overall 47% don't know enough about him. Plus There are the non-voters because it won't matter crowd to be picked up as well.

Good luck maintaining that lead.

The point is that the organization types like Hillary. The rest of us like Bernie.

And most of us are not organization types. Most of us will end up voting for Bernie.

Bernie is passionate about his caring for ordinary people. His compassion for the poor and the middle class has been the driving force of his life. It has educated his votes, his decisions, his life path. And we all feel that when he speaks.

He has a marvelous sense of humor when it comes to himself. He gives the impression of being a person who really loves people and you get the feeling he has a deep sense of morality, of right and wrong. His votes in Congress reflect the judgment that comes from that deep sense of right and wrong.

I love Bernie. What can I say. I think that as Bernie is seen more and more and heard more and more, more people will love him as a politician too.

And he is free from the excessive influence of corporate and wealthy donors and all their hopes and desires and demands because he doesn't seek corporate money. I'm donating to him and hope to buy some of his swag.

I'm active in local Democratic politics and always campaign for our candidates. I will not campaign for Hillary. I do not trust her. I trust Bernie.

So the ‘organizational types’ like Hillary; the rest like Bernie? If you’re progressive, you like Bernie; if not you like Hillary? Geez, I don’t even know what all that means. I always thought I was a progressive-type guy. Maybe not.

Third Way, Wall Street, fake Democrat. I didn’t realize Hillary wasn’t one of us?

So today’s Dem Party only has two members – Bernie and the ’beloved’ Liz Warren?

And Obama is now a phony and a Republican?

Where have I been???

That poll, by the way, is something of an outlier. It also has Walker at 3rd place behind Bush & Rubio, in contrast to a lot of other polls.

Also, the sample was described as "433 adults" with no indication of whether they are likely voters, etc.

Here is a more comprehensive summary of recent polling:

Republicans--
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/2016_republican_presidential_nomination-3823.html

Dems--

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/2016_democratic_presidential_nomination-3824.html

Note that the average of all Dem polls for that period shows Biden exactly tied with Sanders at 10.8%.

....for the next year or more.

I'm almost positive that Biden won't run, and not because of his recent family tragedy, but he still has relatively high poll results most likely because of name recognition (and ignorance on the part of the electorate).

I'll feel more confident in these polls come January next year. The reason I pointed out that Biden was out-polling Sanders partly to show the weakness of polls in May 2015, 16 months before the Conventions and 19 months before the election.

that cannot be stopped. What he stands for is what most people want - and it means drastic change for some, and a better life for most Americans.

People with money get 1 vote each, regardless of their wealth.
And thanks to the wealthy, there are more poor people, thus the poor are getting stronger with single votes - if we can get them all to vote.

Maybe finally the 1% have overplayed their hand..
