(62,325 posts)Wolf had. Tried at the end to scare people with 'so you're going to raise taxes', Bernie managing to get in 'Yes, ON THE VERY WEALTHY, ABSOLUTELY'.
Lol, he has them figured out, Wolf's timing with that last question was a little off, Bernie made good use of the few seconds left open to him to slap down the 'leading question'.
It's a pleasure to watch him handle them. I get the impression he ENJOYS it.
And he does it with such class, no defensiveness at all. Just 'here's your answer'.

Marr
(20,317 posts)Sanders is trying to advance a good idea. The fact that it certainly won't be supported by the Republicans is beside the point-- it's a good idea and one that's likely to be popular with the general public. He's making this part of the dialogue. Republicans can stop it and some people will remember. This is should be happening all the time.
If we're only ever advancing ideas that the Republicans will support, we'll be shambling rightward forever.

Bernie is not a talking head and the questions about Hillary were out of line. I loved Bernie's first response, you need to ask Hillary. Gaaaa, I just wanted to smack Wolf and wipe that condescending tone out of his mouth. Jeesh. I hate Wolf but saw Bernie was on and stayed tuned. I hate CNN.

(6,699 posts)Hey Bernie, you are blowing right through the bobble-head question lines, and answering honestly and NOT spewing out illogical nonsense that the bobble-buffoons and the wealthy want to hear. Jesus, this is refreshing!
I haven't heard him attack Hillary ONCE. Admirable. This guy is on the right track, and I honestly think he is going to get traction as the exposure resonates across "media-land".
All the talking-head-bobble-heads are trying to make him look like "an idiot", but he comes off like a straight man that talks common sense; and they are shocked in their seats. Jesus...take some of Wolf's money. GREAT!! Take some of Hillary's money, bill-o and vannity's purse, GREAT! Many of the wealthy, certainly not all and not the majority, are willing to pay more to help this country get things back into balance across the land. Senator Sanders is making sense, and they can't seem to find "the crack". They keep trying, but he keeps tossing honesty and logic back in their stupid faces.
He was on NPR last night, and I believe he got the respect he should get, and he did well, very well. I'm ready to back Senator Sanders. Hillary may or may not win the nomination; but this guy is speaking for ME! I love it!!

Bernie seeks those questions. The rest, not so much... and on the trail reporters avoid those hard ball questions like the plague. I mean, if we ask them, we might lose access or shit like that.
What was asked today of Clinton was average for the rest of the field. Whiffle balls, and that is sad. I do not necessarily blame the politicians for it, but I am sure none of them will complaint much. Well, except Rubio and Bush, they got asked a gimme, and they still blew it. And that was a ball down the FOUL LINE!

(72,631 posts)Second... by bringing Hiilary into it... sounded like "Did you check with Hillary first?"
Wolf, youre going to have to ask Hillary, Sanders advised. I dont work for her, I dont know. Ive just introduced legislation. I dont know where Hillary Clinton is coming on this. I believe weve got to draw in Germany, Scandinavia, many other countries around the world and say, If you have the ability, regardless of your income, youre going to be able to go to college tuition free.'
Reverse roles and genders... say Bernie was an overwhelming favorie, and Hillary was the longshot. And she was asked to opine on what the male frontrunner thought.
.................................................................
Third... by trying the old gotcha question, "Will you raise taxes?"... which has worked on politicians for decades... and he did not flinch.
On the very wealthiest people in this country, absolutely, Sanders shot back.

Our world is being literally made uninhabitable for virtually every life form on it by the insatiable and ever growing greed represented by every new dollar in the markets.
Every speculator driving up false demand and forcing huge amounts of waste of our limited natural resources.
Every dollar helping to line the pockets of think tanks, fund lobbyists and continue in the unimpeded quest of a few extra dollars today in exchange for ending life as we know it on earth.
They have shown time and again they cannot be trusted. Not to defend life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Not to deal in facts or reality, not with honesty and integrity but with backstabbing, graft and outright theft.
They don't care about you. About children. About democracy. About rights. About tomorrow. About nature. About beauty. About knowledge. About art. Unless they can be exploited and used to make a buck.
These are not secrets. It is plain to anyone with eyes. One can freely choose to be on the side of a better world or one can choose to assist the global suicide.
