Hillary on stage with Sanders, O'Malley, and Webb?
How terrified are you now?
Should the others just have stayed home because something something we'll end up with President Cruz?

(5,252 posts)Very little risk and a lot of reward. I just don't understand why so many of her supporters have their pants on fire.

I think it will be exciting and informative. I look forward to hearing from everyone that runs.

(5,252 posts)This trips people up all the time.
You ask a question and one of 2 things happens:
1. People you're not talking to respond and say "I'm not like that."
- Great, I'm happy for you, then why did you reply if it doesn't apply to you?
2. People just want to torpedo a thread about something they don't like or posted by someone they don't like.
Welcome to DU. You just learned something.
KMOD
(7,906 posts)thanks, I guess.
I wasn't trying to torpedo your thread, I was just curious.
I'm not sure you can post a topic towards only a portion of DU. There are many of us that read the posts and we respond.

(27,822 posts)Someone erects a strawman, and then gets pissed when it's knocked down - usually within seconds.
Said someone then tries to intellectualize his failed OP by claiming it is (a) being responded to by the "wrong" people and/or (b) is being "torpedoed" by people who don't like him, or his strawman - or both.

(5,252 posts)Some people think they see shit that ain't there, but argue that it's there because it really helps them make their lame "point" if it was actually there.

(27,822 posts)No one is trying to "torpedo" your dumbass thread.
No one is calling a "pow wow" in order to conspire against you.
No one is wetting their diapers.
Your need to believe all of the above is probably what's causing that rash - which no one seems to have other than you.

(19,877 posts)Its all strawman.
WhaTHellsgoingonhere
(5,252 posts)people get together and have a pow wow.
That's what happens.
Anyway, the OP is a great fucking question as well as approps. If you don't realize that, that may be a pattern.
NanceGreggs
(27,822 posts)... and your brilliant OP?
Yes, my dear, yes - the forces of evil are gathering together as we speak. The word has gone out: Torpedo on sight.

That's the answer.

It's lack of substance is only surpassed by its irrelevance.
I guess some people really don't have anything better to do with their time.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
