Even poor countries in South America and Africa spend large sums of money on their military while having far more humanitarian needs with less money.

Venezuela just announce a round of new arms purchases from China when they can't even afford consumer basics.

Does everyone in charge of these countries measure their dicks by how much military equipment they have?

Every american got a little spritz from Lockheed-Martin-Boeing when the contracts were signed. You might have thought it was bee pollen but it was your portion of the wealth distributed to these beneficient coroporations. Next time, please scrape it off your clothes and use it to buy food stamps.

Until you get used to it, the boneyard is a spooky place. The amount of military (and commercial) aircraft simply boggles the mind. Row after row after row or mothballed jets, prop planes, and helicopters is stunning.

But, oh my, we need to cut food stamps, social security, medicare, SNAP, headstart, etc. because - well, you know, them damn folks living in the lap of luxury on MY DIME!! Taking cruises, eating steak and lobster. I have a friend whose cousin's college roomate's brother saw it happen!

Do some research before sensationalizing this.

First, this happened in 2013 - close to two years ago.

Second, the 21 aircraft were stored in the Arizona airfield to prevent them from deteriorating or being scrapped until they were put into service. Fourteen of the 21 are being transferred to the Coast Guard after reconfiguration in order to SAVE buying other aircraft for the Coast Guard.
