On Nov. 7th, 2014 I got up at 0500 and went to work, same as any other Friday. The following Tuesday I had reconstructive shoulder surgery. I'd have to say that if every second of post-op pain was worth at least a penny, one reconstructed rotator cuff was worth TONS more than two reconstructed ACLs and one repaired MCL.
Tomorrow, I go back to work for the first time since that day - 11/7. I've already looked up the address of my company's yard and put it in my S5 so I can use the navigation app to get there if I have to (it's 1.8 miles, one stoplight, and one left turn from my house but I haven't been through the gate since Nov.). I've laid out my work clothes (had to use the bigger pants) and set the alarm.
Where the FUCK did the time go? I had so many things I was going to do! I was going to lose weight even! I was going to work on ME. Heck, I was gonna meet A HERETIC I AM for lunch on one of his trips out west. I was gonna get my bike off the wall, fill the tires, do 20-30 miles a week, and starting tomorrow I was going to ride it to work every day until next winter.
So I go back to work tomorrow after a little over five months... the same dumb fuck I was when I went to work in Nov., only fatter, and with the same yard-long list of Honey-Dos I had before my surgery. Who'm I gonna blame this on?
Thanks Hillary!
