Be on guard, women. The next wave of abortion restrictions is here.

They are not letting up on taking away the rights of women to make their own reproductive choices.

Do you know what worries me so much? That they are keeping us fighting battles on all fronts so that our party isn't sure what to take a stand on first. And that is a shame.

The right wing leaders who started these constant attacks on the left made it clear they were going to do so. They even put it in writing.

Right wing leader said they must be willing to be obnoxious.

We will maintain a constant barrage of criticism against the Left. We will attack the very legitimacy of the Left. We will not give them a moment's rest. We will endeavor to prove that the Left does not deserve to hold sway over the heart and mind of a single American. We will offer constant reminders that there is an alternative, there is a better way. When people have had enough of the sickness and decay of today's American culture, they will be embraced by and welcomed into the New Traditionalist movement. The rejection of the existing society by the people will thus be accomplished by pushing them and pulling them simultaneously.

We will use guerrilla tactics to undermine the legitimacy of the dominant regime. We will take advantage of every available opportunity to spread the idea that there is something fundamentally wrong with the existing state of affairs. For example, we could have every member of the movement put a bumper sticker on his car that says something to the effect of "Public Education is Rotten; Homeschool Your Kids." This will change nobody's mind immediately; no one will choose to stop sending his children to public schools immediately after seeing such a bumper sticker; but it will raise awareness and consciousness that there is a problem. Most of all, it will contribute to a vague sense of uneasiness and dissatisfaction with existing society. We need this if we hope to start picking people off and bringing them over to our side. We need to break down before we can build up. We must first clear away the flotsam of a decayed culture.

Florida is about to pass some more restrictions on abortions. In a hearing today they only allowed one speaker from each side with only seconds to make their point.

Testimony Nearly Non Existent at Abortion Hearing

There were dozens of angry women in the State Capitol today who were denied a chance to speak against a controversial 24 hour waiting period for abortions. Only two speakers, one for and one against got just seconds to make their case before the committee.

The legislation requires a woman seeking an abortion to make not one, but two visits on different days to a doctor before the procedure can be performed.

Eleanor Sobel sought to allow the consultation to be by phone or electronic communication.

“She physically would not have to make those two trips. It’s a burden for many women, especially those who travel long distance” Sobel told the Senate Health Policy Committee.

“Yea. All opposed please say nay. Nay.” the amendment was voted down.

More than 30 people signed up to speak. Just two got the chance.

North Carolina pushing new stricter abortion laws.

New abortion rules sought in bill by NC Senate Republicans

RALEIGH

Restrictions on abortions were proposed in a bill filed Thursday. The proposed restrictions are not as far-reaching as past efforts.

The legislation, led by Sen. Warren Daniel, a Republican from Morganton, continues several years of argument in the General Assembly on an issue that also touches on the campaign of Gov. Pat McCrory.

McCrory campaigned on a pledge not to further restrict access to abortions. Advocates on both sides of the issue closely watched how his administration handled a bill the governor signed into law in 2013 that required the state to update abortion clinic regulations.

Abortion-rights advocates were pleased with last year’s outcome, saying it wouldn’t force any clinics to close. But abortion opponents said the regulations didn’t go far enough to protect women’s health. The General Assembly still must approve those rules.

Christie Backs Legislation That Would Ban Abortion After 20 Weeks’ Pregnancy

RENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that he is backing federal legislation that would ban abortions at 20 weeks of pregnancy.

The potential Republican presidential candidate endorsed the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” in a statement to the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List.

The law would ban abortions at five months of pregnancy.

Quoted in multiple published reports, Christie said: “Today, I am a living example that being pro-life is not a political liability anywhere in America. I also know that there are areas where all Americans — regardless of being pro-life or pro-choice — can come together. One proposal that brings Americans together is the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would protect unborn children beginning at 20 weeks, or five months or pregnancy, based on their ability to feel pain.

Women will die if such bans against abortions are forbidden in life and death situations. Some already have.

The next step will mean they can be jailed...a case like that is going on right now.

I remember some past words of the likely person to take Harry Reid's place, Chuck Schumer.

In 2005 Schumer took women's rights off the table....right out loud.

There used to be an audio at the link, but it seems to have died.

I am quoting myself so I will a few more paragraphs.

Here is what he said in 2005:

He was at a fundraiser in GA. He admitted that the DSCC would choose the candidates. We already know the DCCC under Rahm did that. I posted today that Florida has made it clear they will pick candidates.

A Florida county chairwoman said the party would pick the candidates.

We know they have done this for a while, but he openly admitted that issues no longer mattered.

There was an audio with the transcript...I have heard it but it does not appear to work now.

"Let me tell you one other thing we did. We are no longer letting Democrats get in a circle and shoot each other. I was just in Tennessee with Harry and with (...) and we have a primary and I stood up there Harold Ford is running and he can become the first African-American elected in the south to the Senate since reconstruction which would be a great thing for America. There is this young woman whose... not so young... but a nice woman running against him but everyone says she is going to attack him."
"...(unintelligible) we are going to intervene if anyone one democrat attacks another, we're doing that in states where there are primaries.
We can't afford to do it anymore. This always happens in the primaries, we would throw up the cards and see where they landed. No more, we are finding the best candidate in every one of the seats where a Republican is vulnerable."

"So I called up Governor...our number one target is Rick Santorum...let him go back to wherever he lives, Maryland, you know you heard about it, he is Pennsylvania but he tried to get exempt from the school tax there cause he lives in Maryland even though he is a registered citizen of Pennsylvania. In any case I called up the Governor of Pennsylvania, Governor Rendell, I said who is the best candidate to beat Santorum. He there is only one person who could beat him but he won't run and B you wouldn't want him to. I said why wouldn't we want him to run, he said he's pro-life. He's a deeply religious Catholic man. Bob Casey."

"I said, those days are over Ed. Yes I'm pro-choice, but we need the best candidate. We can't insist that every democrat check off 18 different issues before they get (unintelligible) we could do that, we can't anymore.
And so, we persuaded, Harry using his very...Harry has amazing insights into people...and we together persuaded Bob Casey to run. A poll yesterday...national...all the polls they did...Casey 51 Santorum 40. You should see Santorum nervous and walkin on the floor."

(unintelligible)

"And we're doing this in the other states"

These people have planned how to erode our rights for decades. The implementation is underway with no feasible way to stop it. I really don't see how we can until people wake up and stop electing these sociopathic motherfuckers. Complacency of the populace has allowed them to get a foothold. I'm seeing the battle ahead of us much the same as trying to eradicating an antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

An Indiana jury sentenced a woman who says she had a miscarriage to 20 years in prison.

NHL roundup: Ovechkin scores 50th in...
Richardson: U.S. goes bold on climate...
Germanwings co-pilot reported depression
MLB notebook: Average salary to top...
Opinion: Israel's military option on...

In 2013, Purvi Patel showed up at a hospital emergency room suffering from severe vaginal bleeding. According to court documents, at first she denied that she had been pregnant but later told doctors that she had a miscarriage and delivered a stillborn fetus which, she said, she placed in a bag in a dumpster.

Patel was later charged with feticide and felony neglect of a dependent, though these charges are decidedly contradictory. "Feticide" would require Patel to have terminated a pregnancy while the fetus was still in the womb. On the other hand, "felony neglect of a dependent" requires delivering a live fetus and then neglecting it.

As Amanda Marcotte of Slate pointed out in February, Patel "was convicted both of killing a baby and killing a fetus." The only thing more preposterous than this is that Patel was charged in the first place.

Nonetheless, after five hours of deliberation, a jury convicted Patel of two entirely contradictory crimes based on entirely circumstantial evidence. And on March 30, 2015, she was given a 30-year-sentence on the felony neglect charge, 10 of which were suspended. She'll serve a concurrent six-year sentence for feticide.

I wish women in those jurisdictions would require a 24 hour waiting period when the man in their life wants sex. Maybe then men will start to get it.

I'm well past menopause, and divorced, so alas, I can't do this. Require the waiting period for sex, that is. My lack of a social life is a personal problem, thank you very much.

The now-deceased Weyrich was a founder of the Heritage Foundation and student of Nazi propaganda techniques.

http://www.theocracywatch.org/yurica_weyrich_manual.htm
September 14, 2004

Americans and the main-stream media have been very slow in catching on to the fact that we are in a war-a war that is cultural, religious and political. One document not mentioned in The Despoiling of America is the closeted manual that reveals how the right wing in American politics can get and keep power. It was created under the tutelage of Paul Weyrich , the man who founded the Free Congress Foundation. Conservative leaders consider Weyrich to be the "most powerful man in American politics today." There is no question of his immense influence in conservative circles. He is also considered the founder of the Heritage Foundation , a conservative think tank made possible with funding from Joseph Coors and Richard Mellon-Scaife. Weyrich served as the Founding President from 1973-1974.

To get a sense of how revolutionary the political fight for power in the U.S. is, we need to look at a few quotes from what has been dubbed, "Paul Weyrich's Teaching Manual," the Free Congress Foundation's strategic plan on how to gain control of the government of the U.S. Written by Eric Heubeck, and titled, "The Integration of Theory and Practice: A Program for the New Traditionalist Movement," the document is no longer available at the Free Congress Foundation's website for obvious reasons. But excerpts are published at the Yurica Report . The excerpts explain why the Dominionists are winning; the tactics they endorse are sheer Machiavellian:

I have paraphrased the four immoral principles of the Dominionist movement as the following:

1) Falsehoods are not only acceptable, they are a necessity. The corollary is: The masses will accept any lie if it is spoken with vigor, energy and dedication.

2) It is necessary to be cast under the cloak of "goodness" whereas all opponents and their ideas must be cast as "evil."

3) Complete destruction of every opponent must be accomplished through unrelenting personal attacks.

4) The creation of the appearance of overwhelming power and brutality is necessary in order to destroy the will of opponents to launch opposition of any kind.

According to Jeffry Sharlet, Hitler's Mein Kampf and William L. Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich are studied as textbooks in a particular leadership training group he wrote about in Harper's magazine.

It was easy enough to get the ban on late term abortions. The Democrats helped it along.

Harold Ford

Voted YES on banning partial-birth abortion except to save mother’s life.
Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003: Vote to pass a bill banning a medical procedure, which is commonly known as "partial-birth" abortion. The procedure would be allowed only in cases in which a women's life is in danger, not for cases where a women's health is in danger. Those who performed this procedure, would face fines and up to two years in prison, the women to whom this procedure is performed on are not held criminally liable.
Reference: Bill sponsored by Santorum, R-PA; Bill S.3 ; vote number 2003-530 on Oct 2, 2003

Tom Carper:

Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions except for maternal life.
S. 3 As Amended; Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. Vote to pass a bill banning a medical procedure, which is commonly known as "partial-birth" abortion. Those who performed this procedure would then face fines and up to two years in prison, the women to whom this procedure is performed on are not held criminally liable. This bill would make the exception for cases in which a women's life is in danger, not for cases where a women's health is in danger.

Also voting for the so-called "partial birth abortion" ban were other Democrats. The bill did not allow for a woman's health to be considered. Just a life or death situation.

In the Senate:

John Breaux, Harry Byrd, Kent Conrad, Tom Daschle, Byron Dorgan, Fritz Hollings, Tim Johnson, Mary Landrieu, Patrick Leahy, Blanche Lincoln, Miller (GA), Ben Nelson, Pryor AK, Harry Reid.

Not voting.
John Edwards, John Kerry, Joe Biden.

More from Daschle and Clinton...wrong kind of "getting along" and "bipartisanship".

23. Democrat Tom Daschle's very alarming 1997 anti-abortion bill supported by Bill Clinton.
Wed Apr 1, 2015, 05:34 PM
Apr 2015
"Daschle's so-called compromise bill, as quoted in the New York Times, permits an exception to the ban for `a severely debilitating disease or impairment specifically caused by the pregnancy (emphasis added),' but makes no provision for a pre-existing, life- and health-threatening `debilitating disease or impairment' that is being exacerbated by the pregnancy. This could include kidney disease, severe hypertension and some cancers. Nor does the Daschle bill allow for an abortion in cases of severe fetal abnormality where it is unlikely the fetus would live long outside the womb, even with technological support.

"The physician certification requirement and the potential loss of a medical license in the Daschle language invites government scrutiny of private medical matters and threatens doctor-patient confidentiality. The intent of this and other abortion ban bills is to control women and to limit their ability to make critical reproductive decisions that affect their families, their health and their lives. These bills represent the ultimate in Congressional arrogance," Gandy charged.

The bill apparently was endorsed by President Clinton, according to this NPR newscast in 1997.

Abortion Lies Doctors Are Forced to Tell

According to the Guttmacher Institute, women in 17 states must be counseled on points that are wholly unsupported by the medical and scientific community at large, like the link between abortion and breast cancer (five states), fetal pain (12 states), or long-term mental health risks from abortion like depression and suicide for women (eight states).

The provision in Arizona’s SB 1318 states that at least 24 hours before a woman takes Mifepristone—the first of two medications taken to complete a medical abortion—a doctor must inform a patient “orally and in person” that “it may be possible to reverse the effects of a medication abortion if the woman changes her mind but that time is of the essence.”

The clause was added to what was initially just a ban for abortion coverage through the Affordable Care Act, after testimony from Dr. Allan Sawyer, a pro-life advocate and obstetrician practicing in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Sawyer testified before the legislature that he had personally reversed a woman’s abortion by administering a high dosage of the hormone Progesterone. Sawyer stated then, as he has before, that women undergoing the elective procedure of abortion “do not understand the true nature of the risks” and “often change their minds.”

With bill sponsor Senator Nancy Barto, Phoenix Republican, smiling in agreement behind him, Sawyer told a House panel this month, “abortion is not health care.”

“Women who have initiated a medical abortion process and who change their minds for whatever reason should not have their babies stolen from them because Planned Parenthood or any abortionist withheld life-saving facts or withheld information,” he said.
