Wall Street banks threaten to withhold campaign funds from Dems in tantrum against Elizabeth Warren

"Big Wall Street banks are so upset with Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren’s call for them to be broken up that some have discussed withholding campaign donations to Senate Democrats in symbolic protest, sources familiar with the discussions said.

Representatives from Citigroup, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Bank of America, have met to discuss ways to urge Democrats, including Warren and Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, to soften their party’s tone toward Wall Street, sources familiar with the discussions said this week."

.......

"JPMorgan representatives have met Democratic Party officials to emphasize the connection between its annual contribution and the need for a friendlier attitude toward the banks, a source familiar with JPMorgan’s donations said. In past years, the bank has given its donation in one lump sum but this year has so far donated only a third of the amount, the source said."

7 years, I doubt that the Democrats in that chamber, liberal, moderate, or conservative, will be able to change the house's majority for some time.

What needs to be done is to kick the paid lobbyists out of Washington, and I have no idea how that can be done, since they are so entrenched, and Citizens United has made Congress subject to being bought and paid for by these lobbyists

It will take a grass roots effort, and I am very skeptical of the American public as a whole

Keep in mind, I am not disagreeing with your point, I just think at best it will take years to accomplish

I think it's because they know what's coming for them, and theyre not quite ready yet (almost) to have their private Corporate police and military take over the Security State...they have to try (at least for a little while longer) to buy the silence of the opposition..

Keep at it Liz. Keep at it Bernie. They know what they TRULY deserve...have at them, because there are MILLIONS of us that have your backs.

woman who speaks the truth. The bankers, the brokers, the conservadems.

They have to know her message is starting to resonate with more than just a few "ideologically entrenched liberals" as they would like us to believe. Otherwise they would just ignore her as some fringe loon.

The fact that they are ganging up on her and trying to silence her says to me, she has the power to be a game changer and they know it, otherwise they'd just ignore her.

So I say triple down Senator Warren, triple down!

The power is in We The People and We The People must now come to the aid of Elizabeth Warren and fund her campaign. She has them on the banks on the run and We The People need to mount a massive fund raising effort now to take back control of our destiny. Unfortunately - TPTB have demoralized The People and created a situation where We The People are so demoralized that We The People can't even muster up enough effort to GOTV.

Who and how do you re-motivate The People - to take back our country from these Bankster's and Corporatist's?

The Market Fundamentalists
are blackmailing the Democrats?!?

If Wall St hurts the Democrats
ability to gain a Senate majority
there is NO SCOTUS leverage.

No matter who is elected president
in 2016, without the Senate no
Pro-Choice justice will be approved.

"If elected" Hillary won't have ANY
support for her SCOTUS nominees
without a Democratic Senate.

This is how they control us and our party. How can you in good conscience vote for anyone who has any ties or affiliation to the oligarchy? Fri Mar 27, 2015, 10:33 AM
Mar 2015

My limited understanding of how this process works (campaigning, primaries, elections, etc.) is that there is really very little hard money needed to get a name on the ballot and to travel to the necessary states, conventions.

Most of the $$$ needed goes into the pockets of Main $tream Media, paid consultants, fancy shindigs, etc.

The M$M is already bought and paid for by the plutocrats and shoveling wads of cash into their advertising maw is not really going to affect their slanted reporting. Paid consultants and sycophants aren't worth a penny on the dollar. Smart volunteers are worth an infinite amount more.

Instead of expensive convention halls let's have open-air gatherings around the country. Let's use the 99% megaphone from Occupy Wall Street to advertise. Let's canvas the US neighborhoods with sincere volunteers rather than blast paid political advertisements on T.V.s.

With an approach like this and sufficient populace enthusiasm, a ticket with Bernie or Liz on it is possible, and it could be a winning ticket.
