Representative Justin Harris has come under fire the last few days after a decision that he and his wife Marsha made to "rehome" their two adopted daughters with another family. The husband in that family, Eric Francis, had no prior convictions, but raped the six-year-old girl only a few months after she went into his home.
For the second day in a row, Channel 7 has tried to get Harris to tell his side of the the story. Several people on our Facebook page have called the Harris family's decision rehome the adopted children inexcusable, but Thursday Harris told Channel 7 there is more to the story.
After dodging reporters Wednesday, Harris began Thursday in the Education Committee on which he serves. We caught up with him as he rushed off to another meeting.
"I have a wife and three boys at home. I've gotten death threats," explained Harris.
Harris says that there was more to the story than the 67 page affidavit revealed.
"The truth is going to come out," he said.
However, in order for that to happen, Harris needs to tell his side of the story, including what led him and his wife to choose to rehome their daughters.

(111,255 posts)You can't just "rehome" children the way you do a problem puppy, pass them off to some good ole boy you know through the church. The adoption agencies tend to follow this stuff a little too closely for that. There are going to be a lot of questions for that pious sack of shit to answer.

There is going to be a lot more coming about this Republican, god bothering SOB. For instance, he runs a preschool that has gotten in excess of a million bucks from the state since 2005. Both Farcebook business pages for that enterprise have been taken down suddenly, but it appears he's been flouting the law quite seriously.

Oh, yeah, there is a distinct odor about that guy and it's not just the stench of sanctimony.
And he does love the little children, yeah, I'll just bet he does.
This is just maybe 20 seconds of looking. I'll bet there will be even more out there in the coming days.
"Rehoming," my flabby old ass.

(5,946 posts)taht is kind of sad, but in all states they lose track of the children. They have been trying to recruit me to track one child - it is a state project to have retired people track just one child so no one gets lost in the system. But these are not adopted children, but foster children, Why are they paying this family fro adopting children?
