History Channel just told me so in an hour's worth of claptrap on how the political circumstances are shaping up to usher in the End Times (capital E, capital T). Complete with a telling of Zionist history with a nod to friendly nations and a heavy emphasis on dates calculated by Newton. Now the mythology can be firmly ensconced through the imprimateur of a....da ta da dah.....scientist. Science and religion converge so we simply must join hands and look skyward as part of a global suicide pact.
Otherwise, it is a cold and snowy day on the prairie, soon to become a bitterly cold and windy night. All's well for at least another 45 years.

How about a show on the History Channel documenting all of the doomsday predictions (biblical and not such as the Hale Bop folks) and how those deadlines have come and past and civilization keeps hurtling forward.
But you know darned well that there are those who watch this type of program and think that , yep, they heard it on Sunday or whenever spoken by whatever clergy, so it has got to be true. Unfortunately, we have policy makers right now that appear to hail from that cohort or who are backed by monied members of that cohort, and who will shape policy to reinforce it.

Claimant: John Hagee and Mark Biltz
Description: Mark Biltz in 2008 and John Hagee claim that four "blood moons" in 2014 and 2015 may represent prophecies allegedly given in the Bible relating to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
However, with my luck, I expect the event won't happen until at least April 16th - after I've paid my income tax.
