Will the President be able to spend Christmas with his family in Hawaii?

It doesn't seem that the vote will happen before Sunday, boner is just doing a vote on Friday.

Boehner laid out the agreement he forged to temporarily renew the payroll tax holiday — one his members will hate — and said the goal is to pass the new bill by unanimous consent on Friday morning. That means if even a single recalcitrant Republican objects to his plan, the chaos will drag on for several days.

"That means if even a single recalcitrant Republican objects to his plan, the chaos will drag on for several days. "

That pretty much sums it up. Unless the GOP threatens to withold campaign cash from the recalitrent teabaggers, you know at least one teabagging wingnut will step out of line.

He can sign the bill there. He does not have to be in DC. Unanimous consent means the full House won't vote on it. There may be as few as 5 or 10 who vote on it. As long as no one objects it is legal. Most House members are already back in their districts.

Obama could conduct the nation's business from the North Pole, given today's technology. I sure as heck hope he gets to Hawaii by Christmas.
