Keith Olbermann returns to tv: On ABC News "This Week" Sunday

Keith Olbermann will sit in on the political roundtable on ABC News' "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" on Sunday.

The program announced the news via Twitter on Thursday.

It will be Olbermann's first television appearance to talk politics since his explosive departure from Current TV in March. He will be joined by George Will, Donna Brazile, Matt Dowd and Peggy Noonan on Sunday.

when he was reporting on the Bush crime family for all of those years? Finally, an aggressive, liberal journalist on a Sunday morning right wing fest...what a breath of fresh air and I may just tune in for once. Regardless of your small, insignificant turd laid in this thread, I suspect Keith will be leaving even bigger ones in George Will & Peggy Noonan's punchbowl. I say Yay!

Well, it's no surprise to find you on this thread this morning because of Keith's first appearance on Stephanalopalopolas' show. I think he behaved himself considering it was his first show, but George & Peggy's pucker factor was at zero! LOLOL! It should be a very fun summer!

I'll take what I can get WHENEVER we can get a voice from our side.

I'll wager his transgressions were/are nowhere as bad as those that are tolerated and propped up by the right.

First you're a guest, then you "fill in" a couple of times, and then poof! there you are!

I'll definitely be watching, if for no other reason than to see if he can restrain himself from strangling Peggy Noonan and pummeling George Will vigorously about the head and shoulders.

He is bar none the best journalist in our midst today and I'll take him any way I can get him.

He was the only liberal oriented news on TV during the dark ages of the GW Bush terra-terra-terra hyper-propaganda years.

His personality type and career trajectory have similarities to mine, so I have an appreciation for what he's looking for in a job. I also know the pain of reporting to empty suit superiors.

Maybe he'll find a cable outlet that is actually available on most cable providers this time? Current TV's availability still seems to suck.

So many of us have to sacrifice so many of our beliefs to just hold a job. Maybe Keith prefers to stand on his principals rather than work for people he doesn't respect? I wish I could afford to stand for my principals a little more.

and has been consistent, since the Bush years when he was almost the only voice on Cable to speak the truth, in stating them and no backing down even when it may have cost him his job.

Looks like he's still very popular or ABC would not have invited for this. Also, it's possible he had other contracts before leaving Current.

I want Current to succeed and don't know what happened there, but one thing I did read was that he was criticized for having Michael Moore on his show. If that is true, then I would wonder whether we are getting another mainstream channel instead of one that finally respects the Liberal wing of the Dem Party.

WTF?

What the hell is wrong with having Michael Moore on your show, anyway?

Michael is not a lying propagandist. Most of his work seems to be heavily fact based. How can you have an objection to facts?

Is it that the MSM is so heavily skewed towards the lying righties that it's considered unfair to have a guest that pretty good at telling the truth?

Both Keith and Michael have an excellent sense of humor. I simply cannot think of any conservative in MSM that I consider funny in any way, shape or form. I think some of the Zucker Brothers that created the Airplane movie are actually funny righties. There may be others, but they aren't coming to mind right now.

I would also like Current to succeed. Ain't going to happen if they don't get better distribution in the major cable outlets.

I still suspect she was reagan's Monica. Maybe not literally, but Dear God she sucked up to that man. Fawning so embarrassing that it hurt to watch - or listen to.

And count me among those who would eagerly take Keith wherever we could get him. WE NEED HIS VOICE. There aren't all that many going balls-out for our side.

I don't think he will be interviewed at all, but even if he is, it just isn't the place where I'd see him doing so.

I share the discomfort expressed by many here, though because I want Al Gore's Current to prosper as well. Just a bad situation all around and especially for progressive media.

He isn't challenging that Noonan moron enough. Or, that dickwad, Will, for that matter.

My big disappointment is that during discussions of the GSA scandal, the various repugs were whining about the $800K that was wasted. But, nobody pointed out that the repugs, who are foaming at the mouth over $800K are STILL silent over the $6.6 BILLION that went missing in Iraq in 2003. Carolyn Maloney let Susan Collins get away with it, and the repugs in the "round table" were allowed to get away with it, too. I'm disappointed that even Keith let it slide.

BTW, you can watch the episode on ABC's web site.

I think it was even more that $6.6 BILLION and yet it's never mentioned----as it should me. You can bet if the Dems had done it Fox would be on the story 24/7 every single day!
