Wonder what Whitey really wants?
ATTORNEY GENERAL RONALD GOLD(R)
Is better of the two.
GOLD'S opponent, Kamala Harris, the current Attorney General, on the other hand is consistently ULTRA-LIBERAL, supporting issues like abortion, same-sex marriage, and "sanctuary cities" (cities that do not allow municipal funds to be used to enforce federal immigration laws), claiming all the liberal organization's endorsement.
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER TED GAINES (R)
Yay! At last, a solid conservative, I can get behind.
TED GAINES is a Northern CA conservative, fiscally and socially, who currently serves in the State Senate District 1, and formerly in the Assembly. He knows insurance as he has previously owned a successful insurance small business for over 30 years. He is a strong advocate for making CA a more friendly state to do business. He is endorsed by many conservative groups. His wife, Beth, also serves in the State Assembly and known for her solid conservative principles.
TED GAINES for INSURANCE COMMISSIONER!
SUPERINTENDENT of PUBLIC INSTRUCTION MARSHALL TUCK (D) (or * )
Unfortunately, neither of the candidate are conservative, and both are Democrats.
However, MARSHALL TUCK is by far more moderate and palatable in his views than the liberal TOM TORLAKSON.
For example, TUCK is okay w/the current Homeschooling, okay w/religious songs at Christmas, doesn't support increase in taxes for schools, believes in protecting and supporting Charter Schools, believes in strong, accountable, objective teacher evals, believes in changing teacher tenure, and believes that the Transgender Bathroom Bill should be changed.
TORLAKSON holds the opposite views on all of the above.
*Or write in: LYDIA GUITERREZ, who IS a conservative and came in 3rd in the primary.

OP
nakocal
(552 posts)1. You cannot be both a conservative and a Christian
Sorry, but the values espoused by conservatives is directly opposite the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Oh wait -- you aren't actually sorry, are you?

(247 posts)2. Thanks for posting this
It's a(nother) guide for candidates and issues I most likely do not agree with. It often is difficult to make an informed choice about judges.

(2,431 posts)3. I'll use this along with SFBG's endorsements as a base...
Sometimes, like in the case of Prop 1, everybody knows it sucks.
But yes, I have had Nancy's help in deciding how not to vote many times. I also live in OC, so her local picks are relevant for me, too.

Well almost. I agree with the idiot's pick on one of the propositions.
