How many current (contagious) Ebola cases are there?

Is there anywhere that keeps some kind of record of currently contagious Ebola patients?

Not the total number infected, not total numbers of death, not numbers of survivors. Just currently sick and contagious.

Check out the CDC site Bragi Oct 2014 #1
Good link. Thanks. MineralMan Oct 2014 #2
That is a good link, but I don't see what I was looking for (or I am missing it). morningfog Oct 2014 #3
Google the "epidemiology of the ebola outbreak" Bragi Oct 2014 #4
Subtract the deaths from the active cases B2G Oct 2014 #5
No. Keeping any stats in West Africa is dicey. Too many people get sick and die of it and no one kestrel91316 Oct 2014 #6
The CDC multiplies the known cases by 2.5 for accuracy. morningfog Oct 2014 #7
Makes sense. I wasn't sure of the exact number. kestrel91316 Oct 2014 #8

It has total estimates per country, but not current "active" cases, for lack of a better word.

What I am trying to get a sense of is how many are currently contagious. Those who have recovered or died are no longer at risk of spreading the infection. I am looking for that number.

But that changes daily and the numbers are way under reported.

who is recording cases even sees them. They die unnoticed.

I've heard estimates saying the published numbers might be as low as only 25% of what's actually out there.
