With peace and love, Ringo's All-Starrs hammer out the hits

Peace and love and lots of music — that’s what Ringo Starr had for his many admirers.

“Peace and love” is the former Beatle’s catchphrase — he uttered it nine times Sunday night — and it permeated from the songs such as “Anthem” down to Starr throwing the peace sign at his fans.

At times, Ringo was the frontman leading the band, riling up the audience and dancing from foot to foot. For the rest of the show, he was much like the Ringo of old, keeping time behind the drum kit as he bobbed his head just the way he did 50 years ago on the “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

This iteration of Ringo’s All-Starr Band features Steve Lukather of Toto, “Bang the Drum All Day” singer Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie of Santana and Journey, Richard Page of Mr. Mister, drummer Gregg Bissonette and multi-insrumentalist Warren Ham.

This Ringo story was posted on the DU a few weeks back: http://studio.omaha.com/?ndn.trackingGroup=91341&ndn.siteSection=omahalanding&ndn.videoId=26422576&freewheel=91341&sitesection=omahalanding&vid=26422576

Was a good show overall. Was great to hear Ringo sing his solo and personal hits, and was intrigued by the rest of the band. The guitar player guy from Toto was fantastic and did a great job on the Santana songs. Would have liked to have seen/heard more from Todd Rundgren, but realize it was really a Ringo Starr show. Overall was a fun (though chilly) evening!

They thought the promoter should have mentioned all the 80's tunes from original members.

I can't understand Ringo not selling out with this quality group of friends.

Does everybody know that Christine McVie is back with Fleetwood Mac after 16 years: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/5869665/christine-mcvie-rejoins-fleetwood-mac-official

We've seen them twice. Both times without her.

Love the Beatles, and Ringo sang Yellow Submarine, Little Help From My Friends, and a few others,

Todd is fabulous! Seen him before a couple of times and he's an incredible songwriter/musician/singer.
