Tomorrow, we remember the ladies.

From the USA Today: "Thousands of women are expected to rally on the west lawn of the Capitol on Saturday for women's equality, voting rights and ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, adopted by Congress in 1972."

"Thousands of women..." ::ahem:: and men.

Tomorrow I will be joining thousands of Americans of all ages, races and genders, to rally for the Equal Rights Amendment, which would Constitutionally prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in the United States. The Amendment was written nearly a century ago, and was nearly ratified thirty years ago, but came up 3 states short of the 38 needed to amend the Constitution, and stalled after an arbitrary deadline passed. Tomorrow, in the shadow of the Capitol, we remind the nation to finally answer the letter, written by Abigail Adams in 1776 to her husband and future second president, John Adams, at the Continental Congress: "in the new code of laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make, I desire you would remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands. Remember, all men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation."

Tomorrow, we remember the ladies.

Join us in DC September 13th, 2014 as we rally to ratify the ERA and protect Voters Rights!

A new generation is taking up the fight to finally put women on equal footing with men and have our right to equal protection under the law codified in the U.S. Constitution. It's time to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). We spoke out loud and clear for equality in 2012, but they’re still not listening, so we’re doing it AGAIN in 2014! We Are Woman, in partnership with ERA Action and Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), is organizing a 2-day event in Washington, DC.

Along with some friends, my daughter and some of her friends.

ERA ratification is way overdue.
