Apparently nothing much has changed since 1886.

How much more obvious could this be? Not much IMHO. Greedy over-weened capitalists have been working pretty much openly for over a hundred years towards the gradual enslavement of We the People.

This is nothing other than highway robbery of an entire nation in broad daylight via the creeping incremental hyper-militarization of local police forces to the point of absurdity, all pointing towards the gruesome end result articulated by Mr. Gould 128 years ago -- all in service to the 1%.

This ^^ ruthless ^^ heartless ^^ strategy ^^ by our super-wealthy uber-greedy Oligarchs has not changed one whit in the last 128 years, only the means have been exponentially expanded & heightened by many technological advances in weaponry and such.

11. There have been a couple of minor skirmishes so far.

OWS was a battle, the protests in Wisconsin, the protests in Ferguson aren't over, we are starting to have labor unrest with the minimum wage protests, etc. But to me the main issue to watch is the persecution of the Black Community with profiled stops and searches, the imprisonment of millions, and the outright murder in the streets. This will boil over and the rest of us will have to take sides or hide under our beds. The American Aristocracy will either have to back off and turn down the temperature on us frogs or decide to go for it and throw gasoline on the fire.

It's so sad that so many people's dreams of a decent future, of raising a family, having a decent job, etc. all hang in the balance. Many younger people I know say they don't want kids because of the dire dystopian future they sense is in the works.

OWS was a glimmer of hope, and we saw how it was brutally squashed by militarized police. I still have some hope left, but not in some popular "uprising" in the streets. But as my moniker suggests, I think if this gets turned around it will be an irresistible psycho-spiritual phenomenon that we have not seen yet, triggered by who-knows-what. Yes it's vague and that is perfect, since it means hardly anyone will see it coming, as in under the radar.

I remember as a kid yuppies saying things like that. "Were gonna change it from within!" I kinda believed them. It seemed convincing to me at the time.
I remember watching Reagan and all the evil, old guys and thinking to myself "It is gonna be so great when they are all gone and we can start really fixing things! It is being changed from within!"
Then I start seeing a whole new group of evil, old guys. WTF? I feel like instead of changing it, they just expanded it. They were assimilated, as we are assimilated as our children will be even more so. We are what we work for.
